December 2007 Code Watch

Subscribing, i called to see about a special and she said there were not any. Do you have to specifically ask a certain way, because she did not check to see if I had a pin.:confused3

Going dec 16-22 to ASMO was told it was booking up faster than normal. I hope this does not effect future discounts.:sad2:

I'm subscribing too. We weren't planning on going back until DEC 08, but Who wants to miss out on YOAMD!!!! I'm not sure if we will be able to go yet, but I sure am hoping we can pinch our pennies! I called to see if we had any pins and come to find out I had one..... but it expired on Feb 14th :worried: Oh well, she said to keep calling and maybe something else will come up.

So I have a question. Let's say I book now and I put the money down, how long do I have before I have to pay the entire amount? I'm scarred of not being able to get a ressie. But, I don't want to book and not have the total amount ready to pay.

When I booked our trip to WDW with moueketrips.com I think he told me 45 before I leave:wave2:

looking for a dec code too!!

Also was wondering if they applied discounts after trips have been paid for.

I was told they will apply discounts after your trip is booked and paid for, but you have to request it.

And the date for pay off is definitely 45 days before travel! I booked through Disney and just make payments online.

I was curious is the AAA discount worth becoming a AAA member for the DEC 2007 vacation? I do not have any codes to my name...

When I booked, after I made the deposit it said "Balance due at arrival" and I'm sure, because I was in shock, this is the first time I see this. Then I verified the Terms and Conditions and it says: * Final payment is due upon arrival.

Room only Reservations are due on arrival. I know packages are due before but not sure of the time limits - I think it's 45 days

Yep, that's right. Room only balance is due on arrival. A package balance is due 45 days before arrival.

I wanted to add that new discounts are still subject to availability so even if you call and request it you may not get it.

Usually the aaa discount is worth it.

During Value season you will save (if available) the following with AAA in a standard room -
Value resort - 4 nights (73.80)
Mod resort - 2 nights (65.25)
AKL - 2 nights (72.56)
$360 room - 1 night (60.75)

I used those numbers looking for the break even point for a membership costing $60. I think even break even is worth it (compared to no discount) because you also then get some small trip benefits as well as your year of aaa. Anything more than these nights you are actually saving money.

AAA discount isn't available in holiday season I think.

May I ask- where do you get your numbers? I assume that is for room only? Do you know how much you save on 2 MYWtix (6 day + PH)? We're considering WL.

from mousesavers.com (easier to quote from that than type it all in from the aaa disney book I got when I booked)

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.
The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas) at the Value and Moderate resorts.
You don't have to book AAA/CAA rates through the Auto Club. Room-only reservations with an AAA discount can be booked directly through the Disney Reservation Center at (407) W-DISNEY or a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel. Just ask if there is an AAA or CAA discount for your dates and resort.

AAA/CAA rates for all of the following year are usually released in the summer. 2007 AAA/CAA "room only" discounts were released on August 6, 2006.

So you just look at disney website get the room price for that season/room type and apply the appropriate percentage...dont forget to figure in tax as well since you will be saving some on that.

according to my aaa book I got when I booked - the above is the same. And is available for room only or package...you get the same amount off either way but with a package you add tickets/dining at regular disney price. If you want a package you must book through AAA.

I cant find info about tickets in the book. And mousesavers.com doesnt say either.

Hoping for an AP rate for Dec 1, then we aregoing home to VWL on 2nd. Have a party of 5, sooo need two rooms or a deluxe:sad1:
Do you have to book a AAA discount with AAA, or can you do it through disney reservations?

I called and added the AAA discount to my Dec reservation at the CR. Didnt know about it before. They credited my reservation balance with $123.00!!!!
Yay!
Still holding out for a fl res rate, but in the meantime-that was nice.

Yes, either way, as long as it is ROOM ONLY. Packages can only be done directly thru AAA.

SUBSCRIBING!!
Is it best to go ahead and book through Disney AAA and then hope for the Fl resident or AP rate? Last year I waited until the codes came out and then I could not get the resort that we wanted. I'm thinking we should just go ahead and book now for the week before Christmas and that way we will at least get the AAA price?
