December 2007 Code Watch

HI!!!!!!!! New to the board, and feel blessed to have found yall. The hubby and I are planning on 12/9 - 12/15 for our belated honeymoon. I will call daily for good rates as well as include in my prayers for a code/pin.
.....

Third, my husband is a state employee and I read somewhere that WDW gives discounts to government employees? Is this true? Do I need to bring some proof when I check in? (He's in law enforcement so we can bring his badge.)

Thanks so much for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the DIS!

We'll be at Pop Century 12/7-15 - here's hoping we both have magical vacations. :yay:

Someone mentioned gov't employee discounts at the Swan/Dolphin, I'm not sure about that, but you may qualify for Disney's Shades of Green resort, which is for military, teachers, nurses and government service employees - they receive a discount, I believe. :)

Hi - my travel agent put a courtesy hold on a Family Suite for us for 10 days. I believe you can only do that through a travel agent.

Anybody can put a courtesy hold on a room with Disney. I know that room only bookings they will hold for 14 days and I think a package is 10 days

I wish we knew WHAT the discount was for.. not just room only code or package discount. I want to know % or $ off for these discounts!

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I looked at mousesavers for the history for Dec. For the room available to anyone discount, does ANYone know what type of discount this was? Is it only for certain categories (i.e. deluxe, but not Value)??
Thanks!!

Hi all...this is my first post here...I was looking for some help. We are booked at POFQ Dec 1-9th and am really hoping for a good discount, how did you all get 40% off? And can you share that code with me?? (not sure if this is even possible) Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks so much.

Welcome to the Dis, lovenmickey!

The 40% off code has expired - now we're all waiting to see if any other codes will be published for December.

We've got a bit of a wait though...if I remember right, discounts for December weren't released until August last year.

So pull up a chair, grab a snack popcorn:: and check out all the other great info here on the Dis while we're waiting. :)

Subscribing. :surfweb:

Codes and rates for Dec. usually come out in August. The wait is killing me!!

Sorry I am sure this has already been answered but with a 17 month old I dont' have time to read thru 20 something pages! : )

Can I go ahead and reserve my room and then when the discount code comes out call and give it to them? How does this work.

Also anyone know the best week to travel crowd wise between the last week of Nov thru Dec? I know the last week of Dec is VERY crowded we did that last year.

Yes you can. However, If you reserve a room only you can not change that to a package and if you reserve a package you can not change that to a room only. So while it may help you to reserve now, if the deal that comes out (might be for a package or a room only or both) isn't for the type of reservation you already have, you will have to cancel and rebook to be able to use the deal. Also, the deals are often quite limited so the location or room category you booked may not be available on whatever code comes out. Or the availability for the code for a room like you reserved might get sold out before you call. In that case you would be faced with keeping what you have at the rate you have or switching resorts to utilize the code- this can usually be done by modifying your reservation. Neither of these issues is necessarily a big deal (cancelling to rebook or modifying) but just remember that having a room reserved does not guarantee you access to the new codes when they come.

Joining the thread....

We missed out on a July AP discount so we are staying offsite in a WH townhouse.

Hoping that we :cloud9: it enough to stay there in Dec as well.

But it not............ I'll be right here with you all popcorn::

I was just checking the Disney site and realized that the latest MVMCP date is Dec 20th. I was really hoping they'd have something closer to Christmas. Didn't they have some last year for the 22 or 23? and is it likely they'll add more dates?

You might want to post this as its own thread on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategy board. It would be more likely to get attention from people who know about such things than it will get on page 17 of a code watch thread.

Is an early Christmas present from Disney a possibilty? I am wishing for an early release of a package discount for the Poly. coffee:

Looking for pop for Nov 30th to Dec 2nd before we move to SSR.

Hi! I'm new here and PLANNING my first trip to Disney. I say planning b/c I've gone with my parents as a child and with my husband's company. We plan to go in December and I would love a code, but I don't know what it means to be "subscribing". What am I to subscribe to so that I get the code? Thanks!

CFKNIGHT, how much of a discount with AAA? I called but only looked at package prices. I need room only as hubby and I are going down during free dining and will upgrade our 1 day base passes to APs. Did you get a $ off or a % off? We are looking 11/25-12/3

Well it all depends, some resorts offer discounts an some don't....We were able to book POP for $65 a night for our 7 days. we have an AP so if there rate comes out it will be about $5-$10 a night difference.

"Subscribing" just means that you are joining this "thread" (discussion) about codes. If you look up at the toolbar at the top of the page, you'll see "user CP" (user control panel.) Unless you have your preferences set to not automatically subscribe to threads on which you post, when you click on User CP, you should see a list of threads to which you are subscribed (threads you posted on.) The list makes it easy to keep track of subjects you are interested in.

Discount codes for December, if there are any, have traditionally been released in August. We don't know if there will be any discounts, but anyone traveling in December that is hoping for a code, keeps an eye on this thread and posts any info they find.

There are different kinds of codes; most apply only to guests staying at Disney resorts. The codes can cover room discounts and package discounts or offer free add-ons like dining packages, park hoppers and options. If a code is released by Disney, you'll need to call your travel agent or Disney (whichever you booked your trip with) and ask them if the code covers your trip dates and resort, then ask them to apply it.

I hope that helps! :)

Does anyone know if WL usually has codes out for December? We're doing MVMCP 12/7, and I'm staying there 2 nights.... a code would be much appreciated!

Not sure when I made our ressies the other day thru Disney when I asked about AAA CM said that the codes would come out in August.
