December 2004

I don't know how empty it might be. I threw together a last minute trip for Dec. 10-13 and have been having a terrible time getting a room where we want. Right now we're holding ressies at A/S sports. This morning I checked the web site and for my dates there is NO available resorts anywhere on property, except suites and conceirge. I know there's a huge cheerleading and football function From Dec. 4-11 and they have the All Stars (3) and POR tied up. Also a big mousefest meet with lots of fans that same week. I was trying for a cast rate and got the one I'm holding. Wanted delux, but ended up with the ONLY thing available (A/S Sports/perferred). Tried AP rates and again nothing. Now nothing at rack rate either. Looks like the crowds may start thining after the weekend of the 11th, because availablility opens up starting the 11th. So anyone that is going the second week of December, hold on to your shorts, cause it's going to be a bumpy ride.

While making (or trying to make) my ressies (and I've called pretty much daily checking), the CMs have been shocked each time and have also stated....."this USE to be the slow time".

We'll be there, with fast passes ready, cause looks like we're going to need them.

We are going also! I am really hoping the crowds aren't too big. We have tickets to MVMCP on the 5th, now that I hear that they are filming the Christmas Special I am getting worried!

Did you see the post last night where DISer was about to cancel an ap resssie for exactly your dates? It was for POR (or maybe it was POFQ)! I thought of you but had no way to let you know asap!!

Hope you tried this calling this morning!

We are going Dec 7-14....I just found out that Pop Warner Superbowl and Cheer leading compeitions will be that week.

how will that affect our visit? I thought beginning of Dec is suppose to be dead.

Also...how will Universal and Sea world be?

We're going 12/5-10. We wanted 2-9. but, like for our October trip, there was no on-property AP rate availability for Saturday night. For those like us booking last minute you might want to break up your reservation and book Saturday at rack-rate and the other nights with your discount code. We thought of that too late after booking our air travel.

We'll also be at MVMCP on the 7th!:hyper:

The 5th -11th (or 12th?) is when my daughter was told we'll be there if they win regionals this coming Saturday night...and I also found out that contrary to what I've read/thought, the cost we have to pay includes park hoppers, so they will be in the parks at some point. I guess I'll learn more Sunday if it's even an issue for my family...

*crosses fingers for some Disney in December*

:teeth:

We'll be at the WL 12/3-12/11-our first ever trip!! I picked this time because it's not supposed to be busy...

Well, if it is, oh well-it's still our FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!:) :) :bounce: :Pinkbounc

(I'm just a little excited...:) :bounce: :Pinkbounc )

We'll be there Nov 30-Dec 7 staying at POP. I hope there are low crowds...BUT I really dont care.......Im going to DISNEY!!!!

This is our first December trip too. We can't wait to see all of the decorations. :jumping1: :jumping1:

The crowds may be a bit heavier than usual during Superbowl Week because there will be more cheerleaders than usual. Pop Warner has created separate novice, intermediate, and advanced divisions this year, which allows more cheerleaders to compete at Nationals. My math skills are not all that hot, but whereas it used to be 8 teams per Region that went to Florida, now I think there is opportunity for 24 teams per Region to go (2 teams in each of three divisions over four age brackets). If that makes sense! The cheerleaders do indeed visit the parks around their practice and competition schedule. You will not see them around on Friday night, however, because they all attend the private superbowl party at MGM. Everybody have a safe and magical trip!!!!!!

Looking at the schedule for my daughter's regionals Saturday, I also see different SIZE teams? For example she's in the category designated as Pee Wee Large (they have 32 girls) and then there's Pee Wee Small (I think that's what, under 19 girls?) - I wonder if they do a breakdown for that as well?

16 days left here!! :hyper: :hyper: I go the 3rd to the 13th! 7 night Western Magic, then WLV for a couple days for MouseFest. I have a feeling that its going to be REALLY crowded!!! But I don't even care!!! :sunny:

Oh gosh yes, I forgot about that! It is now broken down by age (4 categories), skill (three categories), and size (two categories). More cheerleaders! Good luck at Regionals! We had a blast!

Thank you - I can't decide which I want more - for them to win so we can go to Disney, or for this to be done so the hours and hours a week of practice (and driving for mom) are done! *grin*

Oh hell...let's win. I could use some Disney right about now!

I felt the same way...right up until I knew we were going to Nationals! The practices will fly by with Mickey at the end of the rainbow! Fingers crossed for your daughter's team!
