December 20 2009 3 night Wonder

I am anxiously awaiting Christmas too! Don't want to wish away our summer, as it so very short. We only have two nice warm months and I relish it! Come September.....I really wish the Fall away!:rotfl:

I have my cruise deposit on for Christmas 2010! We are going on Royal Carribean's new - "Oasis of the Seas"! My son is very excited about that!!!!!

Do you know when we can start making dining reservations? I don't think it is 180 days out anymore...maybe 90 days out?

Many thanks

I think that's what we intend to do more of instead of spending so long in Orlando. This cruise is just going to be a taster to see if we like it before we book a longer one for next time. Not sure if we can afford to go in 2010 but will definitely be going to Florida in 2011.

ADR's are now bookable from 90 days before. I want to book Ohana's on Christmas Day for breakfast so will be on the phone immediately the phone lines open on 26 September.... unless the online booking is up and running by then.

Thanks for the information on dining. I use to love making ADR at 180 days out...made the vacation seem so close!

Asfor the crusing. I think you'll love it. We did our first cruise last December on Carnival Imagination. We loved loved it and loved Carnival. The food was delicious. In picking a cruise. Form your own opinion. We loved Carnival despite what we heard from others...

We are taking a 7 day Western Carribean on Carnival Valor just before we do our Disney cruise. I am sure I will love Disney but in a different way. Disney is Disney and no one else can do a Disney cruise except Disney. Just as Carnival is unique! Now Royal Carribean - The Oasis of The SEAS", the worlds largest and most inovative cruise.....they are al going to have trouble topping that off with the zip line across the ship, 10 whirpools over the sides, two flowrider pools. two rock climbing walls, inline skating rink, boxing rink, skating rink, boardwalk, central park and promenade with mall and cruises first carasol......I just have to remember it is as unique as itself!!!!!:rotfl:

I'll love them all in their own special way!

Charleyann

Wow! You certainly seemed hooked on cruises. I've always said that cruises don't really appeal to me but they seem to be catering now to people who don't have any interest in cruising. I'm sure we will love the cruise and I hadn't planned on doing it when I originally booked the holiday back in April 2008. I always like to try and do something special as a surprise for DD's and thought that this would be ideal. Whether or not our next cruise will be with Disney will all be down to price but I thought our first one has just got to be a Disney Cruise.

Nick

Me and DD's want to do an airboat ride and we'll probably do Busch Gardens during the Christmas week. Never been to Disney Boardwalk either or been to Celebration which is supposed to be good at Christmas so another couple of things to do here.
Ooh, don't tempt me with Busch Gardens  we're not supposed to be doing either that or Sea World this trip but just the thought of the tigers .................

Our hotel is very close to Celebration so we'll probably pop in one evening too. Last trip we had planned on visiting one afternoon but couldn't get out of the car as it was raining too hard ~ it took us ages to find our way out as the rain was so heavy and the streets all look the same. I began to think we were on the Truman show! :rotfl:

Charleyann ~ how exciting!! :yay:

We only live half an hour's drive from Southampton so see the cruise ships in dock if we're up there. Oasis of the Seas was originally supposed to be making a call there on her inaugural tour but I think the latest news is that it's been dropped from the schedule. Disney Wonder stopped there in 1999 but sadly I missed her :sad1:

unless the online booking is up and running by then.
It went live on the 16th ~ let's hope all the bugs will have been sorted out by the time we're ready to book! :wizard:

Ok, I know I'm sad but I've just been watching the Wonder leave port. Just think, in six months time it'll be us on it. :goodvibes

At the moment I'm just waiting for the Candlelight Processional dining packages to be released for booking. Last year it was June 23rd but although a couple of people have mentioned August 29th I think it is just speculation at the moment.

When I called to book our MVMC tickets, I was told by the representative that the release date for the CP tickets was going to be June 23rd. I have it marked on the calendar! We are going to the early show on Dec 19th.

Jennifer

Same day as last year then. I wonder if it will be possible to book it online or whether we'll still have to phone.

Woo hoo fellow cruisers :wave2: I couldn't let this special day pass

pirate: Six months today we sail away!!! :sail:

Well shoot!! I just tried to book my Candlelight Processional Dining package and was told that they are not going on sale until August 29th!! This is per their new 90 day only advance dining policy. This is not what I was told when I booked the MVMCP tickets. I am so totally irked! :headache:

Jennifer

I tried too, I was told the same. :( I wonder if all the dates will be available for booking on August 29th or whether it will 90 days for each date. The CM I spoke too didn't know.

I hope they will all be available then. From an entirely selfish point of view, that date suits me better as it is in the school summer holidays in the UK and I will be able to phone as soon as the phone lines open. I work in a school and the lines have been open for a couple of hours before I get chance to ring at the moment.

Hi fellow cruisers :wave2: hope you are all keeping well. :goodvibes

I can't believe how our cruise date is creeping closer, roll on Monday week for our 5 month dance! :dance3:

Has anyone given any more consideration to us doing a :fish:Fish Extender:fish: Exchange?

If anyone is up for this, I am willing to be the one to collate the info. :)

I'm up for the Fish Extenders. In fact, I have already collected a couple things I thought would be cute! I will have to make myself an extender though, since I don't have one of them yet. I've seen some cute suggestions.

Can you please explain Fish Extender?

I'm not surprised you're getting excited. We thought we were going for a long time and splitting up our holiday quite a bit but yours sounds fantastic... a whole month on holiday.... now only if we could get enough time off work and school. :thumbsup2
BTW, we too are staying at POFQ after the cruise but staying until New Years Day.

Nick

We are staying at POFQ until Dec. 28th and then we are renting a cottage until Jan. 4th/10....then I have to go home!

Yay!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am somewhat challenged in the craft department ;) so think I will take the easy option and buy one! :rotfl:

I haven't collected anything yet but I've had a couple of ideas ~ oh, this is going to be such fun! :yay:

Charleyann, it's a bit like a Secret Santa where you leave little gifts for the others in the exchange. There's a fish outside each stateroom door and it's possible to hang a pocket organiser from it, hence why it's called fish extender! Looking at other cruise meet threads, people decide whether they wish to participate ~ if they do, they exchange gifts by leaving them in the pockets in the fish extender. The emphasis seems to be on the gifts being both inexpensive and fun ~ small little items that won't take up much space. Some of the things that I have seen others mention giving/receiving are candy, stickers, tattoos, beads, glowsticks, pencils, fridge magnets, notebooks, bookmarks, anything that may represent your home town/area.

This link was in the DCL FAQ on the main cruise board, I'm sure it will make more sense than my waffle! :goodvibes

I am game for this! Should there be a cap played on how much we spend for the gifts? It makes it easier......

So we get things that represent our country/province / city?

I'll bring along some Ketchup chips!!!!:rotfl:
