I'm so excited for this trip

Sadly though I had to put a hold on one gift till next Tuesday since my boss at work has to help me with one step, but other that that I am ready to go gift wise. I love giving gifts, I'm told I'm quite good at it , the sucky part is that I will start my vacation on the 23rd and can't give any gifts till at least the 2nd of December . What if I can't wait it give all your gifts to the people at the Best Western Plus

I am so excited that I have plans to pack this weekend , the perks of living in a cold place. I can pack for this trip and not have to worry about my clothes since I am not wearing summer items I will hopefully be donning in a few weeks time.

So I have not lived in Cali for 9 years now, so the weather patterns evade my memory ...

For those of you close how is the weather now?
Should I plan to wear layers for mornings and evenings in Cali?
Will there be any rain or are you experiencing a drought as well?
How about gas prices?
Any other advice on things that have changed since 2003?

HMMM--ok here goes, we are about 45 mins from port and 30 mins from Disneyland-
last week was HOT--in the 90s--shorts and tanks
these past two days . . . cold--well for us at least, rain off and on and in the 60s today I think (I needed a sweater with a hood to go out --not a heavy jacket).
layers are always good--the first day out on the ship could very well be pretty chilly--

since 2003?--more crowded--more congestion on the roads/freeways--allow for extra time to get anywhere.--for us Disney is 30 mins like I said without traffic--with traffic, easily an hour or even more

To clarify for you our party includes myself April (unisex sm), Mitch (unisex lg), Julian (14, adult unisex med) and Allison (9, childs lg). Hoping this will clear things up, very very excited, counting sleeps.

Well based on our temps today, high of 27, 60s sounds like a heat wave. Thanks for the info will take that into account when pretend packing tomorrow.

I ordered a mouse glove from Ebay and it arrived yesterday. I can't wait to sit out on our balcony and wave at everyone with my big white 4-fingered glove!! LOL!

DH has a pair of them, too. He bought them at WDW on our first trip and insists on bringing them EVERY TIME we do Disney. They did indeed have them at nearly every shop. OH! Brain wave! Maybe I can have him wear them to wave everyone in to our meet (our first sea day, Dec. 3, 1:30, Diversions)...then he'll feel like they have a real purpose!!!

Since this is our first time, I have a question-
where do you put gifts that may be too big for the pockets?
Should I hang an additional bag behind my FE?
My gifts probably wont fit in the traditional FEs . . . .

I have seen people hang them on the fish itself (in a plastic bag, in a gift bag...even just tied up with a string) or on the doorknob. I have seen people put them in front of the door. I have also HEARD that if you happen to catch the stateroom attendant in the hall, he or she might be able to put the oversized gift in the recipient's stateroom - although I have never had it happen myself.

(now I'm really curious...oh, how I the FE...it's so much fun seeing what people come up with to give, and just having a little surprise now and then adds so much FUN to the trip - not to mention how much fun we have before the trip, planning our presents!!!)

Just think...three weeks from today, we'll be at sea!!!

My curiosity to has been peeked, so much so that I did a search on the DIs last night to look at other gift ideas to see what other fun things I could have made. Did you know one lady made gifts (luggage tag, luggage handle padding and tote bags all Disney themed) for 72 rooms

(now I'm really curious...oh, how I the FE...it's so much fun seeing what people come up with to give, and just having a little surprise now and then adds so much FUN to the trip - not to mention how much fun we have before the trip, planning our presents!!!)

I know right? I have had such a blast making my stuff, hubby last night commented that anything we got in our FE was mine since he hasn't lifted a finger I told that it was ok because most likely the other husbands did not help either and their wives were sharing with them, except Justin of course who got this whole group stated

I am so excited... We leave on our honey moon in 1 week and 5 days

I don't work today so I plan to pack and go shopping for clothes (that I don't need). As soon as I finish up my coffee and updated myself on everything happening in Disney news It is off to the stores

Hopefully my quick stops at Michaels and Hobby Lobby will not result in me buying more craft items, my suitcase is already full of disney stuff not including our gifts. Did I mention yet that I have minnie ears, stitch ears (got them in Japan last year they are my favorite) and Bride minnie ears? Thats right I am a total dork and am not ashamed . Shoot, I so excited I wore my Minnie ears for a few minutes yesturday just to made sure they looked good with my short haircut At least that is what I told Adam, really I just wanted to wear them because I'm so excited

EDIT: Have I mentioned that I am a terrible typer and editor, all of my friends have just come to except it. They way I look at it it is my signature and that way you know I wrote it and not am impostor ::bess::

Wow I have been busy for a few days and looks like you all have been too... the speed of posts has increased dramatically.... I can remember when I could go away for a month and one post was added.... now a couple of pages.

I'm in on the new people as well... might miss out on a couple of parts but I will see what I can still do. But I have several different things that I'm doing so no one will feel left out.

And I can't take too much credit for the gifts, they are mostly things I can put together on a computer or with computer touches. So don't expect any real hand crafted items from me.

Well off to enjoy a day off of work and thank a few veterans in my life. And if anyone on here served in any capacity.... thank you for your service.

My plan is to carry my mouse glove in my carry on bag, and stick my hand into it as we board so I can wave it when our names are announced. Heh heh!!

Wait until you see my bag! One of the ladies had it on our April cruise on the Wonder. I just loved it so much, that I tracked it down when we booked this cruise. It's been hanging up in my closet ever since, just waiting for December 2nd!! WooHoo!

I forgot to mention, that the mouse hands are sold in the gift shop on board.

I finally finished up my boarding info on the website, and noticed that men's and women's Disney Cruise watches were 1/2 price. ($14.95)

Weather update for all--I know you can check on your own but here goes:
today is in the very low 60s--
it is supposed to rain starting this weekend and most of next week (In the 50s)
Dec is can vary a lot here--last dec/Jan we were at the beach
we desperately need the rain, but I hope the Dec2nd/3rd is nice and sunny!

By the way I will have officially finished all my gifts today

Then tomorrow morning I am packing, I know I did not get to pack last week , but tomorrow is my last chance to figure out anything I need before I go since I only have one day off till we leave. You can't count Turkey Day since I will be at my parents which is like a mile from civilization so Sunday is it. I'm not sure I can fit it all in my suitcase. I have alot of stuff already and I haven't even laid out any clothes

I was told two week before, but there was always the possibility of not getting one up until the day of checking in (I hope that doesnt happen)---
I will let everyone know as soon as I get it.

Also for the FE veterans--what happens if someone upgrades at port, or like me doesnt have a room assignment until after? I can see how meeting up the first day would be beneficial here-

On the upside Im super excited to give out all of our gifts!!!

If anyone upgrades at the port, or gets a last-minute change/assignment for any other reason, you can just let me know - either call my stateroom or drop by and leave a note on the board - "FE room 7626 --> 8030" ( I WISH!!!). Then I will take care of letting everyone else know. I will note it on the board (just as above, so that no one besides those who know what FE is will understand it) and also call each room participating - or, now that we have the wave phones, texting if that would be more convenient!

I couldn't help but laugh at "sweat" instead of "sweet", particularly because we now leave in 9 days (all 9 of which I work) and I have gifts to finish and all my packing to do...so I really AM sweating it!

This answer will help me too, especially if you don't get it by Friday. After that I will be down to my iPad and have fun. You guys might not hear from me for awhile or never . Perhaps we can have a updated list by then that I can print out with blanks so at least i can fill in what is missing since I will not have a printer, plus the meeting info if you could spare a moment Jenn that would be so helpful for me ::Jenn::

I know how you feel. Finished all my gifts yesterday and packed. Thank Mickey I packed early it took me ALL DAY! First I laid out all my stuff, then went shopping for missing items, then came home to pack. I got done at 8PM... I started at 10AM I did stop for dinner, but still. I think I packed more for this trip then I did for my 6-week trip to Asia last year. I don't even have room for all my return souvenirs

I can't wait to meet everyone too! It will be nice to have a face with the name/screen name
