December 17, 2006 4-Night Wonder Cruise

Wow!! Thanks for all the info. I am going to share all this stuff with him. Maybe he will get excited about it too.

Okay, we are less than five months away. I am getting excited. Does anyone have any plans for excursions?

Trying not to get excited too early, but can't help it.
Two questions if anybody can help.
1) We are staying at French Qtr. What time will we need to leave our hotel Sunday morning to get on the bus to P.C.? Dis told me bfore 8:00.
2) Shore excursions in Nassau. 2 adults and 2 girls 11 & 4. Heard the Atlantis trips are not worth it. Thinking about the glass bottom boat. Any other ideas?

Thanks.
See you there.

Yeah! Another person! I can't answer either of your question. I wasn't really counting on doing any excursions. In Nassau, I thought about getting off the boat long enough to go to the straw market, but I am not sure what to do there. I probably won't do Atlantis. But it would be nice to spend a whole week there sometime.

At Castaway Cay, we will just veg out on the beach. Although, the banana boat ride sounds like fun.

I just checked for cabins for our cruise and they are very limited at the category 11 and 12. Does that mean possible upgrade??? Nice to speculate about.

We've been to Nassau a few times. The last time we were there was for Christmas 2005. We did the Dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon. I think we're doing this again as It's one of the better encounters we've done. You actually get to interact with them. Blue Lagoon is a good beach too if you're looking at getting off the boat and having fun on the beach.

Not to fond of the Straw Market. People were too Pushy, but not as bad as in Jamaica.

Our other excursion is visiting the Pirate Museum. We want to study up on how to be a better pirate for the Pirate Night Event. We're looking forward to seeing the Flying Dutchman from Pirate of the Caribbean at Castaway Cay. It's suppose to be there through the end of December.

By the way, we just got part of our documents the other day. It's all of the excursion stuff and you can sign up 90 days out. Might be a Castaway Club member thing, I'm not sure. But we're counting down the days too.

Pumba's Dad, I am going to check out both of these. Are they Disney excursions?

The Dolphin Encounter is part of Disney's Excursions. I just ran across the Pirate Museum playing on the internet. It's only 2 blocks from the Straw Market and Ship.

I am not sure that I can afford the dolphin excursion but the pirate museum could be great.

The dolphin encounter is $100.00 pp and there is the dolphin observation at $35.00 pp. Both are pretty neat and the ride out there is fantastic. Blue Lagoon is a very nice beach.

Yes, thanks Pumba's Dad. I am taking my kids and my kid brother and paying fora everyone including 6 days at Disney, so I am cutting costs wherever possible. I will have to think about that, the dolphin encounter would be awesome.

Hi Everyone - I was the OP for this thread. Then we decided to jump off the cruise and just do Disney resort stuff at Christmas. Now, we've decided to jump back on this cruise! The Dreams Unlimited price is still really good -only $50 more than when I first booked!

It won't be too long until we can start making Palo and other reservations.

Can't wait!

Tammy - I am also on the 12-15-07 Magic cruise with you. I just haven't posted much lately.

See you all soon!

Kathy!!! Glad you are back. Also glad you are on the 2007 cruise. i hope to see you post more often.

:woohoo: Hello fellow cruisers !! :cool1: It's been a while since I've checked in. Summer was busy trying to keep my kids entertained while working from home. Well, we're getting closer...woo hoo!!! :woohoo: We haven't taken any summer trips this year. We're waiting for the big Disney trip. I can't wait for it to get here. I really need a vacation.

I really need a vacation too. I can't wait.

I got tagged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh! This is the month our final payments are due!! I was only a little worried... but today my DH received an unexpected royalty check from one of his publishers, and whammo! enough to cover it!

I even applied for a second Disney Visa card to use only for Disney Vacation stuff so I could take advantage of the 0% interest and 6 months to pay. I think I will keep it incase I can talk DH into rebooking onboard for 2008. Let's cross our fingers for an Alaska itinerary!! Then we won't have to pony up airfare!

Are the rest of you getting as excited as I am? I was thinking we should take a count of ourselves and kids with ages. I would love to have a girl about my DD's age to introduce her to right away. Or even to exchange email with before sailing. She will be 10 on Dec. 31st so she will be in with the 10-12yrs olds in the clubs. My DS is 5 but makes friends with whoever is nearby! (very easy going---and LOVES the Disney cruise kids clubs!!!)

Speaking of said DD, gotta go pick her up from her first day back at school and haul her over to ballet class. My DS5 starts on Friday---full day kindergarten!! Whoo hoo! :cool1: My sabatical begins!
TTFN!

I bought my airfare today on Southwest Vacations. I got airfare from nashville for four, and a nine day car rental, for 872. Not too shabby a deal considering. The only drawback is that I can't check in online. Whaaaaa!!!!!

Well, I better get to the airport early.

We are doing a couple of days at disney before and after the cruise. So I have booked DVC rooms for those dates.

What a great deal! Good luck with that Southwest stuff...We'll be lookin' for you on a subsequent episode of "Airline!" :rotfl:
