december 13 and 14 crowds and ticket question

So I am super confused. Some sites say this weekend should be fairly manageable, some say it will be insanity. Any best guesses or predictions how bad it will really be?

Also, if I already purchased 2 day, 1 park passes, can I upgrade them to park hoppers while at the park? Any idea how much that would cost? My plan was all day Saturday at Disneyland, then from open to about 6 pm at California Adventure Sunday because we have to head home. So should I even really hop anyway? Our main goal for this trip is to enjoy the holiday decorations.

We will be at Disneyland that Saturday as well. I have heard that's probably the best weekend during holiday season, crowd level-wise, but I feel for sure it will still be pretty busy.

I will be there as well. Crowds should be manageable, however, that weekend they are premiering the new Fast Pass system for Fantasmic, so things could be a little crazy in the early morning and at night as they work the kinks out.

We'll be there as well. I was there the equivalent of this weekend last year and it wasn't too bad. But there was also bad weather that probably kept some folks away (heavy rain on Saturday and COLD and a bit windy both days).

Year before last I went the equivalent of the weekend before (weekend of CP) and it was a bit busier but still not completely unmanageable (as long as you stayed clear of the CP area).
