December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

LOL...I know, I keep checking and thinking the same thing, that I should be doing what everyone else is doing. DH completely packed, I'm close, and after church tomorrow, I'm done.

That of course excludes DS at college, I'm sure he'll have all his dirty laundry to do Thursday night. :thumbsup2

I was planning to do some laundry tomorrow thinking it would be stuff to have when we get home. However, one of the girls has informed me she MUST have the pants she is wearing today. Guess that means I will definitely be getting it done!

Anyone know where we could find the predicted forecast for Orlando beyond one week out?

Welcome! Flying out of PHL? We usually do but will using Airtran out of ABE this time around.

I just booked today. Can't wait to go. Flying down 12/11 then taking DCL transfers from the airport on the 12th. Seeing the weather is calling for some snow tomorrow, I'm glad to be going somewhere warm.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the cheapest way to get from the airport to the port and back? We have a ride lined up from MCO to the port w/a friend but just in case that should fall through, and for the ride back, we need some (cheap!) ideas!

Thanks, everyone!

Sherry, 38 and DD Emma, turning 11 on the cruise
Our first cruise EVER :cloud9:

We are renting a car, two one way rentals. Got Budget, Full Size for $41 each.

4 days until we leave.. All FE gifts are done..

Today I hope to get some packing done - at least the kids stuff - We tend to do ours the night before... so Wed night for us will be busy.

Got most of my Christmas stuff done...

Now to deal with all the last minute stuff...

We are renting a car post cruise since we have 3 days in Orlando before going home.

Anyone have experience with longterm parking? I was thinking of leaving my water in the van until after the rooms were open. Is this reasonable? Is it a bit of a walk? Any suggestions?

Can you just label it and put it with your luggage?

We also have a Budget rental one way for $40. You have to go to rentalcodes.com and mousesavers.com and check EVERY code to see which is cheapest. Only Thrifty has drop off fees.

Cheapest way to/from airport is definitely rental car if there is more than one person involved.

As to walking back to get your water...depends on which lot they are using. It was different in May than in September due to the construction. I'd put it in a rolling suitcase and take it in with you. No, liquids can not be put in checked luggage. In the past, porters would slap a luggage tag on it and have it delivered to you room--this isn't usually allowed any more as it violates the "no liquids in checked luggage" policy (yes, your shampoo is fine, and if you're smart, it's in a plastic bag as well as the bottle. THey have had too many instances of something breaking and ruining your stuff as well as other peoples' stuff.

I'm not ready...have another project on tomorrow's list--DD's car is acting up again (after car dudes told me not to bring it in last week). That will probably take most of tomorrow!

I just went into the computer system to make sure my excursions were still there...and I just noticed that our stateroom seems to have changed. Our original reservation had us staterooms 2062 and 2068. Now the computer says we're in 6080 and 6084. Our cruise documentation has 2062 and 2068.

Is the # in the computer system, in the stateroom line...the actual stateroom we're going to be in or is it some weird code. LOL Forgive me...remember this is my first cruise ever.

Does this mean we're now in deck 6?

You've just been upgraded. You are in a cat 6 (balcony) on deck 6. Yeah for pixie dust! Enjoy!

Yes, your room number can change any time up to the moment you get on the ship! (Or at least check in) Looks like you got a pixie upgrade to Cat 6 rooms! Woo Hoo for you!

When you check your luggage at the port, you'll want to mark out the original numbers and write the new numbers on instead. But hold off doing that until the night before in case it changes again!

Also, when you get to your stateroom and meet your host, let him know what the old number was just in case anything gets delivered there for you. He/she will coordinate with the other host to make sure your stuff gets to you.

And...for anyone who cares, our cruise has been pulled from internet booking at this time. This usually doesn't happen until Thursday morning before a Sat. cruise...so looks like they might be doing the inventory shuffle again. As of yesterday, there was one cat 9 available to select, and many cat 4 and 5. All else were listed as gty.

Ooooooooooooh..... Yay!!! I told my mom and she and my dad are over the moon. ::banana: Thank you to the upgrade fairy! You're da best.

Of course, the cynical side of me is saying Disney probably figured that as soon as I cruised in CAT 6, there was no way I'd cruise without a balcony ever again and they've now got me sucked in for future adventures. :rotfl2: But I don't care!!!

I can't believe the cruise is finally happening. Today...I'm doing laundry for the packing. LOL Ahhh... the glamourous life of cruising. :rotfl:

I just looked and I still see our cruise available to book for a party of 4 with Cat 12 still available.
