You have the correct island...... but not the name of the bar!

Conched Out Bar by the Family Beach is where we always sit, but I remember it being very open in the middle. So I'm going to guess the Heads Up Bar since it doesn't look like the description for the Air Bar on Serenity Bay. I've never been past the Conched Out bar, so I'm guessing.

Your guess is Correct!:thumbsup2
Here are photos of the bar and open area:

Woo Hoo! Yep, never been to that bar in person!

If you guys want to find us on Castaway Cay, we're always sitting in the chairs directly in front of the Conched Out Bar in the shade. Something about being so close to the bar and not having to walk super far to get there appeals to us.

One week from now I will be throwing luggage into the car to head for the airport. Yeah, I could have waited 15 minutes and posted that I'd be on the way, but.....

And since it is 30 degrees here, I can't wait!

I'm with you. Very cold here, and we'll be getting ready to board our plane!

What exactly are the ship's policies on after hours guest behavior?.. Thanks for the info, you guys are really helping me feel at ease.

Quiet hours in the hallways are 10 pm until 8 am. No kids in adult only areas. No saving seats in the theatres or by the pools (this is enforces spottily by the pool, not at all in the theatre.)

The others are not written, but are the obvious. We've seen (or actually heard) a man removed from a stateroom presumably for abusing a guest in the stateroom--screams, "help me," etc resulted in calls to GS, Security appeared in the hall. We know of teens who were allowed out of their cabin only under the immediate supervision of their father (people under 18 are not sent to the brig). Teens behaving inappropriately in The Stack will be not allowed into the programming. Throwing items overboard from a verandah is handled by moving the guest to an inside cabin with no refund. It is a written policy that nothing be thrown overboard from any part of the ship. Damage to a cabin other than normal wear and tear will result in a bill--translation, if you spill a glass of red wine on the carpet, that's normal wear and tear. If a teen throws a chair overboard (that's a real happening!), he will be moved to an inside cabin and daddy will be billed for the chair.

Children are not allowed in adult only areas. If they show up, the CMs are supposed to ask them to leave (or ask the parents to remove them.) My last cruise was a 3 day Wonder bounceback (never again!) On day 1, there were MANY children in the adult areas including on kid about 8 years old in the adult pool (no way this was a small 18 year old)....parents bringing kids in strollers into the Cove Cafe, etc. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the Cruise Director that evening. The next morning, there were CMs at the doors to deck 9 forward. If an adult got off the elevator, they said good morning, asked if you were having a good cruise, etc. If you appeared to be under age, you were advised that this was an adult area and asked to take the elevator to another deck and walk to the midship elevators to access deck 9. There were also CMs posted by the Cove Cafe (where the adults only area starts.

Sorry...last cruise was a 3 night bounceback during the "kids free" promotion. The crowd was like nothing I've ever seen on the Magic. At the risk of offending people, it was largely 20 somethings who were enjoying large amounts of alcohol and didn't understand that "parent" is also a verb. In other words, more suited to Carnival than DCL! My friend who had never cruised before commented on the "rough crowd" and the fact that they seemed to think that the rules applied to everyone except themselves and their children. I don't know if we were the only people who complained, but the crew did everything they reasonably could to enforce the "adults only" concept.

There was a man seated behind us in the theatre talking loudly thru the show in his native language. I turned around and shot him looks and once asked in English that he not talk during the show. No effect. My friend (who lived in Spain for many years) said about 3 words to him, which effectively silenced him.

I just came across this and wanted to share it. then I wont bother with anymore photos till tomorrows. Last time we sailed it was our 25th wedding anniversary and heres what we found in our cabin, a little bit of pixie dust.

I can not understand peoples rudeness in these situations. It never ceases to amaze me.

Just a reminder to those who need to that you should let your credit card company(s) know you are traveling and to what areas.
Sometimes if they don't know they will refuse transactions thinking your card has been stolen.

It is also a good idea to either copy or email yourself your credit card phone numbers and the card number itself. This saved us a lot of headache (my dad). Carrying copies unless your careful, can be dangerous. I love to put them all in an email, accessible anywhere.

I make a binder before I leave home with an itinerary of what we want to remember for each day, Google maps and emergency numbers etc....
I am a over the top planner, its not a rule book but we forget a lot of stuff if I don't. Last cruise we missed the dessert buffets this cruise I wrote down what nights they are.

I probably know what you mean, but dessert buffets (?) plural (?)
I'm only aware of the dessert buffet at Lumiere's--the chocolate buffet.

I suspect you are including the pirate night buffet--did you know that there is a whole second buffet table with real food (turkey legs, etc) in addition to the dessert table?

I'm really not trying to split hairs, just to be sure that I haven't missed something. You know they don't have enough sweet stuff on that ship! :goodvibes

And I'll add DD's advice--the prettier it looks, the worse it tastes. The best tasting desserts are the ones that look "plain." Not a totally hard and fast rule, but in general it holds!

You are correct there are 2 separate buffets that we are trying not to forget about.

Day 3 Monday, December 14, 2009 At Sea formal night
Dessert Buffet
Lumieres 11:00 Pm dessert buffet is held on Semi-formal night

Day 5 Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Cozumel (Pirate Night)
A full buffet on pirate night...starting about 10:15 or 10:30. It is a full buffet with a wide assortment of entrees and deserts. It starts during the deck party, which starts around 9:45 pm.It is usually on Thursday night at starts at 11:00 pm in Lumiere's, go very early if you want to take pictures.

Got it...we're on the same wavelength.

Now, why is this lady typing on the computer instead of packing the suitcase?

unless your phone dies, gets accidently dropped in water, etc.. paper copies as well as emailing it to yourself is safest, just in case... we leave our numbers, etc with our family in case we need something we can always call them.

Wow.. don't think I have ever been awake at 11 pm on cruise.. the sun and the activity we do at excursions and the fresh air usually wipe me out by about 9...

Those are quite some stories! How many sailings of DCL have you been on?
