Just finished shovelling out the driveway so I could get the car into the garage. <sigh> glad to leave this crap behind.

The suitcase is out ... I guess I need to put stuff into it now, eh? <sigh> Mmmmm...what's on tv? LOL

I'm so bad this year. Sooooooo disorganized.

Well.. if for some amazing reason we ended up with one of the big cat 1 or 2 suites.. maybe! I don't know if the cat 3 would be big enough .

It's totally possible! Look at my siggie from our cruise last December! Alas our finances are much different as my DH has been laid off a full year now, so I don't know that we'd be springing for that fab suite again, especially since we're coming from a 12 vs 6 this year.

I have read a lot about bottle water an lot's of you bringing it to the ship, understandable specially if you have small children. But we are stoppin at Key West and that is still the US; so I figure one should be able to find good quality bottle water at US prices, right ? Just dont go for the french Evian or the Perrier which are very expensive anywhere. Dont's know any about Cayman but in Cozumel, Mexico I wouldn't try my luck with any water.

There is a CVS just a block or two from the port. We stopped there the last time we did a Western to get batteries, sunblock, and other sundries.

OK I have everything packed except for my cameras and laptop.

So since I had extra time I started a batch of mesquite jerky in the dehydrator.
Any deer hunters out there?

We are Bev, DS is eating his deer jerky too. He got his first deer at 458 yds, one shot. Personally, the guys have to cook it when I'm out of the house, I don't even like the smell.

My favorite book ever... "These Is My Words". I've read it several times.

I am bringing "The Lovely Bones" and "The Shack" with me. Haven't read them but I've heard good things about both.

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver is a terrific, moving novel about a troubled missionary family in Africa.

Dennis LeHane writes marvelous gritty crime drama.

Anita Shreve's early books, especially The Last Time We Met and The Weight of Water, are terrific

The Devil in the White City is a tremendously interesting novel that follows both the development of the Chicago Worlds Fair and a serial murderer.

For more junk type ficiton, I love Tess Gerritsen for Medical Examiner crime drama.

Ken Follett and Nelson Demille for intl intrigue drama, and Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth is a fabulous historical fiction novel.

Margaret Atwood writes some good novels; I enjoyed Alias Grace, a novel based on a true murder mystery off the NE coast.

Just what I find browsing my bookshelf.... these are the novels I kept. Happy hunting!

Where is that BEAUTIFUL deck under the lifeboats?!? I must find a chair there at some point and dive into a good book.

Got the clothes packed... Ummm...is it bad to wear the same clothes (not that fancy but it's not a t-shirt!) on formal and semi-formal night? It's a shimmery purple top with black slacks. Does that sound ok? I'm out of my comfort zone when it comes to dressing more than business casual...and even that's stretching it.

ugh...gotta grab some shoes, some granola snacks, and.... ack....maybe I should have started this yesterday. Where's my packing fairy?
