thanks for starting this thread. I have been checking and wishing one was started. I just booked this cruise a few weeks ago and so excited.
I will going with my DH and my DS (11) and DD (6) (at time of sailing). This will be my first Christmas cruise with Disney, it is going to be magical

Hopefully more people will join and then we can figure out if an FE is something people would like to do. I know on my last cruise, we did an Ornament Exchange where people only exchanged an ornament with another cabin. We also had an FE going on as well but this way it gave people a chance to participate in one or both.

We just booked this cruise for our first Disney cruise! Me, DH, DS-5 and DD-3 will be going. Seems so far away, but excited! Using this time to learn tips and tricks to Disney cruising!

We did the FE's the last time we cruised. We got married on the Magic December 14, 2006...same sailing as we will be on for this cruise. It will be my boys first cruise and they are so excited! We will participate in both FE's if we can get it going.
I know we are far out, but has anyone looked at shore excursions for what they are going to do on the islands? I've always done them on my own but with the boys in tow now, I'm not too sure what we'll do!!!
I love planning!

On the last (and my first cruise), we had a facebook page, and you had to request access to the page from the person who started it. It made it easy to keep track of the FE and who was participating, and we had 4 different FE groups. However, I know disboards does not recommend this and frowns upon doing this.

Hopefully we will get more people soon since now less than a year till the cruise, and we can figure out how best to do the FE.

We booked this cruise on opening day and are so excited! We went on our first cruise ever on DCL this past October and it was magical! We are a family of 5 - DH, Me, and 3 DD's. My DD's looooooved the FE last cruise so we are totally going to do it again this time! We are already thinking about what to put together for the gifts. :tinker:

Just booked ours!!! So excited. Is there a fb group yet? Id love to join & do the fish extenders. This is our first cruise ever.

Interested in FEs and looking into excursions at this very moment b

Anyone interested in starting a Fb page for this very merry Cruise?
Or I can start the page. Will just need to learn how to do it lol

I would love to be apart of the FE, but we don't have a facebook account. Anyway to do it without having facebook? On my last cruise, I thought we just kept track on here using a spreadsheet??? It was a long time ago..so I could be wrong!

We are currently booked in a 9B GTY.

It looks like they took the arcade out of the Magic? Anyone know for sure? My boys both love the arcade and will be a little bummed...but I know there's so much more for them anyway!

Are passports required for kids
My understanding is that since it leaves and returns to Florida, you would not be required to have them. I however, not with the philosophy if for any reason I had an emergency and had to fly home, I would rather have them as a just in case.

Last time I went, we also had some people that wanted to participate but weren't on Facebook. we just tried to keep them apprised of what was going on so that they could participate and they felt included. I am fine with whatever way works best for the group. If doing it through Disboards, we will just need to make sure one person keeps track of a spreadsheet.

Yes, the arcade was taken off the Magic this past September. They supposedly did it because space is of course at a premium on the ship and everyone has ipads/ipods/tablets, etc nowadays.

The good news is that the Edge was moved into it's space and it's very nice, and with a better location (IMO).

This is true. No one - adults or children - are required to have them but you do need some sort of ID and the kids need birth certificates - real ones.

But if something were to happen you would not be able to fly back to the USA without a passport. I guess that would mean if you had a medical issue you'd have to be treated in whichever country you were in until you could get an emergency passport - a 2-3 day process I believe.

Personally, I will not leave the country without a passport. ALSO, in our state and probably others passports are soon going to be required to even fly on domestic flights. It's the way things are going. So you might have to get them someday anyway if you plan to travel.
