For all of us Dec 11 cruisers who have been lost in the mix I thought I would start over fresh with a new meet! Since our fearless leaders (or at least the folks who started our original thread) have "jumped ship", I decided to start a new thread so that we can edit the first post to add important information as we get closer to that date!

Welcome aboard everyone! Hope our group starts to grow soon!

If you have any suggestions for info to add to this post let me know!

Did everyone make it over to this thread? Please let me know!

Our DD will be 12(turning 13 on the cruise) and 15. They do not know we are going. We just told them we are going to Florida. If I can hold out and not spill the beans. If I crack under the pressure then I am sure the kids would love to get to know each other via computer.

Kristin

We are trying to keep it from our kids this time too. Haven't even told them we are going to FL, but since my in laws are there, I think I might tell them we are going to visit grandma & grandpa...that might make them less suspicious!

*raises hand* Present!

This is good. Now we have the post started with someone that is on our ship. *chuckles* Hopefully we'll hear from more soon!

I printed out a bunch of Ears for our stateroom door. (We couldn't settle on just 2 so we printed out a bunch and figured we would just switch em up daily) They are all over our mudroom fridge atm and they keep getting changed around it seems. DH and both DD's keep putting up their fav's.

Cute! Our last cruise I did so many I had to change them twice a day to use them all! I made one for each place we were visiting, one for my DD's Bday, one for formal & semi formal night...I thought I was the only one with a problem..

lol nope, my DH says that I definitely have a problem. Although I have a feeling it is him that keeps putting the Donald hat and beak up!

Did you make all the extra ones yourself? Now you have me thinking I should have ones that match our port days! heheheh

It is raining here in St. Louis and I have some serious Cruise Blues!!!! My husband put a ticker on my background of my computer and I keep checking it hoping it moves faster. For some reason 322 days seems longer then 10mth 3wks LOL.

I am so hopeless. So how many people have girls around the ages of 13 and 15? We are still trying to hold out but my husband and I talked and it really would be cool for the kids to have a group preset.

We are planning on enrolling both of our girls in the Wild Side....has anyone done this before?

Kristin

Brenna- I made a sombrero for Cozumel, a rastafari hat for Grand Cayman, a top hat for formal nights...I can't think if the others but I will find the files on my old computer and post them...

Kristin- My oldest will be a month shy of 13 at cruise time and she has ALWAYS found an online friend before we cruised also. I was trying to make it a surprise for them but now I'm thinking the surprise might not be as beneficial as her knowing other girls!
I've done such a good job of hiding it though! It's been a whole year since we booked and I haven't leaked a thing!

Andrea - Those sound really cute! I'll look forward to you posting them!

I can't believe you have managed a full year without telling your kids! I don't think I could do it myself.

Kristin - Forgive my ignorance...what is the Wild Side?

I'm hoping my two will get to know some people before the cruise. Would give them one more thing to look forward to, and then perhaps they wouldn't be as shy to separate from each other if they had to for any of the activities. Right now they are dead set against any of the kids club stuff, because they think it is just us foisting them off in a babysitting area. I want them to have more freedom on the cruise, because really this will be the first vacation that they really get it.

The Wild Side is for kids 13 and up on CC. It is an excursion that has snorkeling, kayaking and biking on the island only with teenagers and the cm's
(NO Parents). Greg and I are looking forward to 3hrs of kid free time on CC so we can explore the adult beach. We still have never seen that part of the island.

Kristin

Ah thanks Kristin! My two probably won't end up doing that. We shall have to see though. Right now they are focused on sticking together, and with one being 12 and the other being 13 at the time of the cruise I think they will balk at me booking one and not the other.

I don't mind waiting till our next cruise to get some time alone on CC. Our first time, so I think we want to experience it all together. :dance3:

Don't get me wrong we want to spend lots of time with the kids. It's just that Greg and I NEVER get alone time so it will be nice for 3hrs out of the day to just be alone.

lol not judging at all Kristin! In fact I'll be totally jealous of you when you do! hehehe

OK, Mom of four here chiming in...you've got to be crazy NOT to want some time away from them. If my girls were old enough i know they would love the Wild Side excursion-they are both adventurous and love to kayak. My kids all LOVE the kids programs too. Madi keeps asking if we can go on another cruise so she can finally go to the stack, but I know that she will spend a ton of time with her sister too.
I read somewhere that the clubs have changed, they are no longer grouped by age but by activity so that shouldn't be a problem (unless Madi suddenly gets too cool for her lil sis by then and hides from her in the stack!!

I allowed my girls to sign themselves out last cruise (trust me I was the biggest advocate for NOT doing it, until others here talked me into it). It was really a great thing for all of us. We had lots of rules, but they followed every one of them and it made us all much happier. My son and younger daughter want to spend every minute in the clubs so I had to fight with them to come to dinner with us (and to swim with Dolphins in Cozumel..really? you'd rather play X box that you can do at home then the once in a lifetime experience of swimming with a dolphin??? I'm leaving you home next time!)

Made it over too. We don't have any kids but enjoy being around them. I'm a former teacher so it's fun to watch the kids enjoying themselves.

On our last cruise they had just changed the kids programs and yes they are now grouped by activity. We actually took a tour of the ship and got to visit in the kids areas - they have some cool places that I wouldn't mind playing in but I think my grey hair would give me away.

When you check the kids into the program they have a wrist device they put on them that has a gps so they can tell where they are on the ship at all times - don't know what age level that stops at but my guess is it is for the little kids only - I can't see a teenager wearing one of those for very long.

Looking forward to the coming months hearing everyone's ideas for activities both on and off the ship.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Yay! This cruise meet post is now on the main list. Thanks IrishCowboy!

I'm here

Has anyone started thinking about excursions?

We definetly want to do the Tulum tour at Cozumel, and will probably got 7 mile beach at Grand Cayman.

What are you planning?

Greetings from Canada eh!
Gee I wish we were riding with you all. We're riding a parallel cruise on the Carnival Dream and will be in Cozumel Monday. We'll 'warm it up' for you!

Imkmahm, good to see you again former tablemate!

Our next Magic cruise is one year after yours on Dec 10, 2011. (Same itinerary as yours)

Unfortunately, that thread is dead so far and I'm looking to already pick up on some cruise excitement! We had such fun on our Dec 2009 cruise that I can't wait to go again.

We may see your ship off our port or starboard side sometime during that week so be sure to wave!:rotfl2:

You'll have to wear your mickey ears on your ship so we can spot you and say hi! Our thread isn't all too busy either, but hopefully that will change?:dance3:
