December 11, 2008 - 3 Night Wonder

LOL

Yeah, it was a good time. Almost 2 years of it is just a blur....you see, I spend almost two years as a Cast Member in attractions at Disneyland Paris. Living in France was the greatest 2 years of my life and it went by SO fast! But I got to work on one of my favorite Disney Attractions (Space Mountain De La Terre A La Lune....the original, not the "new" Mission: 2), open another attraction (Cherie, J'ai Retreci Le Public....otherwise known as Honey, I Shrunk the Audience), and I also made a good friend in Disneyland Paris Imagineering...who was able to get my name printed on an attraction! So, if you ever are going over to DLP, be sure to ride the Indiana Jones rollercoaster and look carefully at the crate that houses the ride control tower...if you look who shipped it to Dr. Jones....is was from Prof. S Arnold....ME!
:goodvibes

wow thats crazy. Yeah it is a good thing you dont mind flying. and plus you get to rack up those miles haha

We fly down to florida wednesday. We always fly out the day before because you can never be to sure with the weather. and plus we want to get a little disney in while we're there.

We are leaving on Wed to fly in and stay at the Radisson in Port Canaverl. Only on e more thing can make it perfect. I hope Disney fixes the problem of separating my daughter and her husband and kids. We booked adjoining rooms (guaranteed room numbers) but when we got the tickets they had separated them by about 9 rooms. That definately won't work unless all the rooms im between are adjoining and nobody is in them (hahaha). By chance is anybody in room 6074.:scared:

Well this is our last evening at home before leaving for Gatwick tomorrow. The packing is almost done, just a few last bits to go in. I just want to get there now! I just hope my case is not overweight as it is groaning with FE goodies! So bring on the sunshine!

See you soon!:yay:

Disney fixed their error. Now my daughter's family can all be together. With 22 people going and eight cabins, that is not bad to only have one error.:worship:

Okay. Which one of you is Tara. I know you have to be one of these people since you told me you are doing the fish extenders:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rolleyes1

Just a reminder for all that can we are having a quick 5 minute meeting at the Promeade Lounge Deck 3 at 3:30. So we know who is part of the group. I will have a cabin list of those I have. You can still email me a cabin number if you like. The FE group is set but some want to give Christmas Cards. See you on Thursday.:cloud9:

I don't know if anyone is still on here, or if everone is traveling -- but I just wanted to say hi and that we will see you TOMORROW!!!!!!!
:goodvibes

I am on the way to the airport now...I am sure that everyone is traveling already, so see you all on board!

Hello!
I hope everyone had a wonderful cruise! We were all very sad to leave the ship this morning. It was a long ride home today. Sorry about missing the meeting at the Promeade Lounge on Thursday. DD8 and I were at the Nassau shopping talk and it ran over. She was very glad we attended since she won a Del Sol t-shirt.

nikilee - A CM brought back the FE gifts stating that the guests in cabin 1036 did not make it onboard. I hope everything is ok. Or did I have the wrong cabin number?

Our DDs loved the FE gifts. They were thrilled to find surprises in the FE through out the day. I enjoyed delivering the gifts. Each time we delivered the gifts I wondered if we would get "caught". It was alot of fun. Thank you everyone!

I hope everyone had a great cruise! I know that my mother and I had a great time. Plus, who expected stopping in Nassau TWICE?? That was an interesting thing to see at 12:30 am. We LOVED all the FE stuff, that was really a lot of fun. I rebooked on board for me and two friends for the May 9th Eastern back on the Magic...so I guess the countdown begins again now!

What a great time on the Disney Wonder! My family all had a blast and are all looking forward to doing it again sometime. I don't think any of us could handle a 7 night cruise (I still feel like I am rocking on the ship! ) but a 4 or 5 night would be fun -- I would be up for two stops at Castaway Cay! Looked into rebooking on board, but the 5 night in 2010 is way too much -- maybe when the time gets closer I can snag a florida resident discount... One can hope, right?

Thank you all for the wonderful fish extender gifts! Grandma, Savannah and I had so much fun delivering gifts and admiring all of the door decorations! It was like driving through the neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights! Nikilee, we also looked for your room and couldn't find you -- I hope all is well! I have "Pirate Booty Bags" that I can send to you! :)

We made another stop at Nassau? I missed that one! I assume it was the last night when things were starting to really rock and roll! I am not a night person, so we were all in bed, but I kept waking up thinking I was sleeping on a roller coaster! :scared: Any idea how big the swells really were?

Hi all,
Well we are back in Orlando for the rest of our vacation. We had a fantastic time on the cruise and our eldest absolutely loved the kids club - we hardly saw her! I tried to find the meeting but was looking for kids and didn't see any that looked right! I too had my gifts returned that I had left for Niki, the room host said they had not made the cruise which was a shame. I wanted to say thanks for all the lovely thoughtful gifts, it was so exciting to return to our room and find goodies! I hope you liked mine.

I suffered a bit of sea sickness the first and last night but thankfully slept through the worst of it on the last night, dh says the waves were reportedly 12 -13 ft and he woke up with the hangers banging and crashing about. We would like to go again but will have to price it up first - two stops at castaway cay would be nice. We didn't bother with Nassau as we had plenty to see onboard as it was our first cruise.
Happy Holidays to everyone
Heidi

Yeah, the last night we were rocking and rolling as we crossed the Florida straights. I was up on Deck 10 from just after "Until We Meet Again" until a bit after midnight since we were passing the Magic. But the weather made it so I could not see her. She was about 10 miles off our Port side heading south.

We went back to Nassau after Pirate night but before Castaway Cay. We docked at about 12:30-12:45 back on the same pier. The Carnival ship that was off our Port side was still there and had just about everyone on board watching the ambulance. We were only there for about half an hour. I think we had made it pretty close to Castaway Cay before we turned around and the TV screen was a bit wonky saying we were 4 nautical miles away from our next port while we were in Nassau. (Since Castaway Cay is about 100 miles from Nassau...)

I loved the new flying in Disney Dreams! Much more than was there before...and that roof top set was also new. Not sure if I like the new Pumbaa costume, though.

I have also been singing "To Infinity and Beyoooond!" I am trying to get an "unofficial" copy of the Toy Story soundtrack now.

I just think the 3 day is a bit too short. I am excited to do another 7 day in a few months!!

We went to bed right after the fireworks. My sister woke me when she heard the thrusters. Is this normal? I thought we were arrive in Castaway. Got up and went on the blacony and what did I see the back of the Sensation. Took a couple minutes to focus then I saw Atlantis and Senor Frogs. Wow what a surprise. When we stopped they were quick and efficient about debarking the gentlemen and his wife, the port workers loaded their luggage on the cart and He was was loaded into an ambulance from Doctor's hospital. As soon as the ramp was moved we were on our way again. I'm not sure what the medical issue was but he did appear to be awake and alert upon leaving the ship.I hope he is doing better and that they have been able to return to the US.

I was told it was a heart attack. Glad to hear that you saw that he was awake and alert. Hope that he is OK. I am scared at the thought of being stuck in a Bahamas hospital with something like that.

We too were on that cruise and saw that we were returniung to Nassau. It was a really amazing how they can just turn the ship on it's own axis. At first it looked like we were just doing circles bideing time to go to castaway cay but then looked like we would hit the shore. I then relaized we were pulling back into Nassau and saw the ambulence lights as they got closer. I hope the gentleman will be okay. It is scary enough to get sick like that at home, much less away from home and on a ship un the middle of the ocean. Goes to show you the efficiency of the DIsney organization.

Those are the bow thrusters. There are separate engines at the bow and stern that just are aimed to the sides. So if you have the bow thrusters all turning left...and the stern ones all turning right...the ship will turn completely on it's axis. If they just are pulling away from a dock, the can turn them both toward the dock and basically just "push away" from the dock. We were in the WDT and the credits were rolling from Bolt in 3D when we felt the bow thrusters that night. Since the WDT is right over the bow thrusters, it was very loud.
