December 10, 2009 3 Night Bahamian Cruise

Thanks for the footwear replies - flops are definitely my shoe of choice for summer, so will bring those. I'll have sneakers from going to WDW before the cruise, and will probably just bring black sandals/flats for dinner shoes.

For the kids, will crocs work for daytime, or did I read that they get slippery?

Can you tell I'm moving on to my packing list?

Enjoy your day everyone - I am off to the gym after I get the kids on the bus (just joined on Tuesday), then it's to AAA to get my doc and home to work and clean the house for DD's birthday party after school.

Tomorrow morning I am taking her with her Brownie troop to go rollerskating, and yes, I am skating. DH is convinced that I'll be heading to Disney in a cast, so think happy thoughts fo rme that neither of us get injured!!!

My kids wore flips and crocs most of the cruise. Including croc flips! No slipping. But maybe closer to the pool? I didn't notice any water anywhere else.
I'm working on my packing list too. After Thanksgiving the suitcases are coming out!

I emailed my AAA TA today and she said she got the docs on Friday and is waiting for the parking passes from the West Hartford branch and then she'd let me know and I could PICK THEM UP!! Seriously? She isn't going to mail them? After the other issue with the reduced OBC from them and now this, it will DEFINITELY be my last travel plans with a AAA TA. So annoyed!

We used AAA a few years ago and had the same thing happen - they said I needed to come in because I had to sign for the documents. What a hassle. I really liked the individual TA but their process is ridiculous. Also, every time we made a change to anything they had to send us a paper to sign and mail the paper back in the mail. There are some AAA discounts like WDW room discounts you can get by calling Disney directly but for the vacation packages I think you need to go to AAA. If I can get a AAA discount directly fine but I won't go though them again - the discount is not worth the hassle.

Well, the skating was a success and no trips to the hospital! I forgot how much I liked skating. It all came back pretty quickly and DD caught on after about 40 minutes and had a great time. I am a bit sore today, but no cast, so that is good!

I picked up our docs from AAA on Friday, I can say that is the last time I'm using them unless it's for land only and with a HUGE discount.

I have stuff set aside for packing and after Turkey Day, I will also be getting out the suitcases to pack them up.

I should move over to the graphics board and request the ones I want, only been procrastinating on that for about 2 months!!

Glad to hear no one is in a cast for vacation Darcy!!

I can't wait to start packing. I'm already checking accuweather for the land portion of our trip! Problem is, it changes every day! Maybe it will be more accurate next week!

I haven't checked the weather yet, I'm just planning on packing an assortment of clothes. When we went in January 2008, it was shorts weather, capri weather, and colder at night. So, between the land portion and the cruise, I'll have a bit of everything packed. I can deal with any temperature, I'm just hoping for no rain!

Just realized that my niece & her boyfriend who're joining us on the cruise and said they wanted to be in the FE group does not have a fish extender and she is traveling till right before the trip. I am out of town too so no sewing machine. I almost got her a stocking but was in Michael's and saw bandannas. I got to thinking that maybe I could make a FE from a few of them. I bought 3 bandannas, some fabric glue and a dowel. In about 30 minutes I was able to put this together. I am still going to see if I can get some Disney iron-ons for it to make it a little more Disney but purple is her favorite color. It's not as fancy as our other ones but I am pretty pleased even if they don't end up with the iron-ons. Hope there's not too many more of those things that come up - I am running out of time.

I'm pretty much pack how I packed for my back-2-back cruise in Feb/March 2009. Mix of pants, shorts, capris, t-shirts, long sleeve shirt and a sweat shirt

I decorated my stocking for my FE tonight. It's a cheap red felt stocking with the white band at the top. I took gold glitter glue and traced around my mickey head paint chip four times on the stocking. Trying to decide if I should put something on the white part or not.

That's funny - almost exactly what my stocking looks like! Red stocking from dollar store, I traced around a Mickey Head paint chip with glitter glue on the white part. Then, I took other Mickey Heads and wrote our names on them and glued them to the red part of the stocking, and one with my screen name from here.

Definitely!! Maybe I should try to incorporate my screen name somewhere. I thought about putting our names in the Mickey heads, but I'm not that neat, and they are small. Maybe initials...

I printed them onto labels and then stuck those on the Mickey Heads...just figured most people would recognize the screen name before my real name....

so is anyone worried about getting off is Nassau after the one thread? I know I am not. Stuff that happens is Nassau could as easily happen to me when I go to NYC or Philly. So I feel no need to worry about a thing, maybe the being stuck in another country without a passport if anything happened, but other then that I don't worry

We aren't planning on getting off at Nassau. We have been numerous times, so not a big deal.

yeah I'm prob just getting off to get some run cakes or something just to say I went, agreed wise to be cautious. Oasis of the seas is suppose to be in Nassau that day as well, so might have to get off to try getting pictures of that from land Just to show people at home how big it is
