December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

We do have a pretty packed schedule for the days at Disney, but we don't go overboard. Since we live only an hour and half from disney world and have annual passes we usually go once a month. So we ride and see what we want. But we love it!!

Well i have been not posting because i was a little sad it seems like everyone was bonding and i am not making any friends, i don't like to be the oddball. No biggie though, i am still hoping to have a ball on my trip. Do you all really believe that is actually Ty and Ellen posting on the boards?

And i am excited i finally got dinged for December 39 bucks each way- it really made my day.

Finally i found the perfect PhD program so no more researching.

Hi Shawn, I know what you mean a bit. Everyone here is friendly; I just don't have a lot in common with everyone and so I didn't post much here either. :)

We are still here, and it's just about a month away -- look when this thread started ... I know we booked in May 2005! Such a long wait for 4 short days! I also have to say that perhaps I haven't posted much because I am the only DISer in our group of 4, and my hubby dreads DISmeets when I make him go! (Surely, someone has to have a SO that also dreads such things?!)

Anyway, we are Jodie (sociable) & Mike (rather unsociable with strangers, but don't take it personally ... Mike and I didn't become friends until we knew each other for close to 6 months and then it took another several months after that for us to actually start dating. So, if you meet Mike, he is not aloof, just shy. :)).

No kiddos in our group. We will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn 12/5 and checking out on 12/10. After the cruise, we will be heading to our "home," the Royal Pacific Resort.

We are also traveling with my sister and our friend, who haven't cruised in ages and are very excited to finally be getting back on a ship.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in about a month's time!

Shawn and Jodie - I for one look forward to meeting yall as I do every one else. I am so glad yall came back to the threads. I guess coming from all parts of the US we do have a very diverse group. I enjoy that. I dont know computers all that much but I am sure Kristen, IANKH, and Neckhart will have something that I can relate to. I am not Supermom of four that can pack her whole family for the same trip we are going on into five suitcases as opposed to my eight but I am sure I can click with Andrea!!!! Babybird sounds very creative, I dont have a creative bone in my body, but we both like racing. Disney fan ole gets to go to WDW every month but I cant hold it against them. I guess what I am trying to say is jump on in there, let yourself go and have a great time. I dont look at myself as outgoing, but I love to meet other people and obviously, I love to talk. I hope this didnt sound like preaching or ho hum. I mean for this to sound heartfelt because I think and hope everyone should feel welcome and excited.

Jodie - Everyone in my family thinks I am nuts for doing this everyday and I guess they are entitled to their own opinion, but when I come up with a good idea they are happy.

Babybird - We are carrying one really nice (dressier than church) outfit, on pirates night we are wearing our costumes and the other two nights just some nice dress pants. I hope that will work. I am only going to the clubs to see "our stars" and to people watch as I cant dance and we dont drink. We did that on ou cruise in June and had a ball. However, I went back to the room and changed into something more comfortable if I was too dressed up. Our carnival cruise, we didnt have the children and there wasnt as much stuff to do.

Things I dont want to miss are the shows, bingo!, and the movies if it something we havent seen. Of course the pirates party and such. I will end up having to find someone to hang out with because my hubby is an earlybird. He was able to hang in June but we are going to be coming from four nights at WDW. Christie is an night owl like me though. William and Howard will probably be in the room ordering room service!!!!

You are being taught proper testing methodology, aren't you? That's a good thing too. What is the system or application under test for this exercise?

It is a hypothetical company developing an accounting software. There are really not too many details.
The good news is I had the same instructor for Fund. Of Software Development, so I am just using bits and pieces of my final project from that class and she is loving me :-)) .

Jodie - my husband (Chris) is not sociable at all unless you are talking about his outdoor hobbies. It really is our only bone of contention - the fact that he is perfectly happy driving 2 hours to his Mom's and not talking. Drives me insane and I am not an overly talkative or demonstrative person either.

It is kind of funny because I just said at lunch today (where they were handing out freebies at a benefits fair), "I really want to get some stuff, but I don't want to talk to anyone. I hate talking to people!". My best friend did a spit-take out of the movies - ironically, I run a Help Desk!!:scratchin

Shawn - nice to see you! I don't know who are the celebs, but I think if one is real, it is TY! Wouldn't be cool to have a contest where the prize was a trip to WDW with Ty?:goodvibes

I am so underprepared for our door. I am going to Hobby Lobby to see if I can get that magenetic paper you guys are talking about!

Kristen

disneyfanole - I dont know if I have told you but I am sooooo jealous!!! I wished I lived an hour and a half from any amusement park. I guess we always have Graceland.LOL

Shawn - Your airfare is $78.00 is that what you are saying? OMG!! I would be excited too. We paid $300.00 a person. We could have gotten for about $239.00 if we didnt fly non stop, but there aint no way with the children. You might as well say one day would be gone for flying for us. If they would have said for $78.00 though I would have in a heartbeat and added an extra night on my trip! ;) ;)

No I dont think Ty, Oprah, Ellen, or Kelly Pickler or any other star is real on these threads. If they are real though and they want to send me their autographs I would accept them!!

Shawn - That is Awesome. It would have made my day too!! Have you read back through the threads? Did you see about the fish extender? I thought it was such a cute idea. Are you starting some new courses?

Well i am not really the creative type so i am clueless and i do not begin my doctorate until March, i will not study during vacation and i need a tiny break when we return to get my head back into educational mode. Plus i am looking into changing careers right now also.

I guess Mike, Chris and my Joe will be easy to spot in our group... :sad2:

Joe tells everyone that I am taking to a bunch of Disney addicts every day - and that we are actually going to MEET these people on the ship! What on earth am I thinking???? :rotfl2:
I met one of my very best buddies - Sweet Angel - on the boards before our 2004 cruise and we talk all of the time now, almost two years later! It's fun to know people that feel the same way about Disney. Especially when most of the people I work with think I am a big loser to be going to WDW/DCL instead of Mexico or Hawaii for two weeks. Hello? Mickey isn't IN HAWAII (or Mexico).

Everybody should feel comfy as a part of the group!
I have goodies from NM for you all! :Pinkbounc

Good for you!
Enjoy and then go back to the books with a fresh head - topped with a fresh set of ears! :earboy2:

William is not shy. He is not the type to just walk up and start talking either. After he gets to know somebody though he does usually enjoy the company. He especially likes to talk about hunting, racing and my least favorite.....budgets!!!!! He is a really frugal person. I dont mind though it has done well for us.

Shawn...I am glad that you are back and posting!! I don't post as much as the others and all of us being at different parts of the state, it does make it hard. I am excited that I will be able to get to meet all of you!! If I keep asking your name, please excuse me! I am REALLY bad with names!! :rotfl:

Minnie..I would love to live next door to disney!!! Jeremy and I joke about him getting a new job with the Reddy Creek fire dept so we can live there. :rotfl2: We didn't get to go this month and probably won't make it in November. :guilty: There is way too much stuff to do!!

I haven't started on our door decorations and I want to make T-shirt for everyone. I'm about a quarter of the way there. (yup, just bought the transfers :lmao: ) and I think for our fish extender I am going to just do stockings. Very easy and already pre-made! woo hoo!!

IDEA!! May be we should do a posting with all of our names and dis ID's so I can start studying!! he he he j/k!! :teacher:

I'll go first...HI! my name is Rina and I'm a Disney addict! :beach: and that will be me in 1 months time!

I pretty much am an introverted (sp?) person, basically a wall flower - but it's exciting to know that there are other people who love Disney as much as I do.

Keep in mind that while I can't wait to meet you guys, it doesn't mean we are then joined at the hip. If we meet the 1st day (after Sail-a-way party) then I know I'll think it'll be fun to recognize some faces on board. :)

Hope everyone is having a great day!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am planning on going and having a wonderful time. I cant wait to experience this with our children. I dont want to be joined at the hip either but I think its going to be fun to meet everyone and then see say "John Travolta" on the dance floor. I would like that even if I didnt know them but after having met them I think it would add to the fun. I also think its good for the children to recognize another adult if the need should arise.

I had to pick up our secretaries travel documents yesterday and it made me so jealous. Of course she is beside herself because she has never been. She is going Thanksgiving weekend.

Christie is going to be a devil tonight against my better judgement and Howard is going to be Dale Earnhardt Jr. (I bet yall wouldnt have been able to guess that one!)

No, not joined at the hip. But it will be fun to meet the people behind the ID's! It will make it nice when we do see each other in passing to say "hi!" and to see how everyone is enjoying the cruise!!

Hope everyone has a safe and candy filled halloween!!

Very well said-as I was reading your post I was thinking "wow, that's exactly how I feel!" (but who is the crazy lady that has 4 kids and is a super packer...I'm the one who only packs 5 suitcases but ends up with at least one kid without a bathing suit or jacket!!) :rotfl:

Wow-are we married to the same guy?DH thinks I am a lunatic for talking to all of you! I think we might work together too! Everyone at work tunes me out now. There are four of us in the office working graveyard and as soon as I start "Guess what we're gonna do on our cruise..." everyone in the room groans!
