December 10, 2006 - 12/10/06 Wonder

We like to win,BUT when Howard or Christie losses respect for their sport or does not act in a sportmanslike manner, it is over. No matter where he fininshes in a race, he is expected to shake hands and thank them for a good race. It is a priviledge to participate in such a great sport and I expect him to act that way. This is something alot of parents could learn from at our track. We race with people that yell at their children if they dont do well. We also race with little ones that cry if they lose. The fact of the matter is, in life you will not always win so why set yourslf up for that heartache? Do your best and thats all you can do. It will be hard for Howard as he moves up next season. He is used to being #1, he will be the youngest racing a faster kart with boys in that class with 2-3-years in that class. Christie doesnt compete yet.

I just cant wait...I now have two and a half suitcases packed. Swimsuits and swimshoes, decorations for hotel and cruise, tink gifts (I dont need another thing...and glad I went through it today). Some of this stuff like the baskets I am going to ship down early, I just have them hidden in the suitcase. This really got me excited.

Have yall seen the thread on the picture frame mat? It is so cool. I have gotten our mats for this.

Happy Monday!

Anyone started working on their door decor yet?

please, i haven't worked on my lesson plans for the week yet!

Happy Monday!! I am excited because there are only 13 days to my birthday!! Work was crazy today!! Just another Monday. I have a lot of designs in my head for our door but I will wait just a little more before I actually start them. I would also like to do some pillowcases for the characters to sign. Is anyone else doing this?

Shari, I am glad that Howard is okay that you guys survived the weekend!!

Jeremy and I want to hit vegas one day. I know my in-laws would love to come along too. My FIL loves those slot machines!! :rotfl2: That will be a trip for another time. I don't know if we are going to rebook a Disney cruise again on the boat or do the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas with our T.A. She is wonderful and always get us the best deals on cruises, plus books a huge group and we have a lot of fun with her and her family.

We'll I am going to get some dinner...Jeremy is pulling a 48 at the station and Alexis is in bed. I might watch that new show "Hero's"

Just a little get you know your fellow cruiser!!

What are your favorite shows this fall?

My top 3 are:
CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy

I watched Heroes last week and I am watching it as right now! I also like the Studio 60 show right after Heroes. Also watch Grey's Anatomy, ER, Law&Order:SVU and House. Can't wait for Medium to come back later in the winter!

Kids are watching Halloweentown on Disney Channel for like the 1000th time.

I think we can get to 1210 posts - everyone just needs to double up on the postings. I bet it is easier as we get closer.

Going to do some homework now. I am trying to petition out of a class and I am SOOOO unmotivated to get the documentation together for some reason.

Anybody go to see Open Season yet? I might take the kids this weekend, since my husband (Chris) is going to a convention for 3 days.

Thanks everybody for Howard. I cant wait until yall meet my children. Of course, I think they are the greatest. I know Christie cant wait until she gets to meet the girls.

Yes we are doing the pillowcases. I got Howard a cars one and Christie a tink one. They say they will generally use the black markers, that is why I bought a themed one. Have you checked out the thread with picture frame mat? It is awesome. I am doing that to.

Our family loves all the csi's. I like the new jericho. Unfortunately, I am a reality nut. Survivor being my favorite, then amazing race, american idol, and big brother. It is awful....I will tape an episode so I wont miss it.

No I haven't seen that thread is it here on the cruise forum or on the creative design one?

The photo mat is on the cruiseline forum. It was added on there on 9-08-06. I think by castoff. I just loved it.

we are going to see "open season" this Friday.

I'm going to make it a point to take the kids this weekend to open season. We've had a rough week. DD6 started having panic attacks and is having a tough time at school because she's worried it's going to happen again. I have been so busy between PTA & keeping our house up that I have basically neglected the kids. OK, not really, but they feel like it because I am usually all theirs 24/7. I fell asleep at 930, exhausted from the day and woke up at 11 because I realized I haven't completed poor DD1 1/2's baby book. I then realized I haven't scrapbooked in over a year. I have hundreds of $$'s worth of stuff and no time.
I just couldn't get back to sleep after that. I am going right now to organize my stuff so that I can get working on her album. Maybe it will make me feel better.
Good Night!

Andrea- I have been meaning to ask you how your finger is doing? I hope yall have a better week. Do you know what is bringing the panic attacks on? We will say a prayer for your family. It sounds like yall are going to need the vacation.

My dh, William, has got a kidney stone(has happened before) and he is home today. He was up all night. I am at the office so he can get some rest.

I am party planning and looking at Christmas cards. By the way, I am 90% done with my Christmas shopping. When I say that, that doesnt include my children. Howard wants a ps3 and I dont have high hopes at getting one. Our game store manager is at a meeting until Wednesday and thinks there is only going to be 2-3 at the stores for the release date. He will be so disappointed. I refuse to give into the ebayers that horde them and sell them at twice the price. How is everyone elses shopping going?

My finger is much better. I got my stitches out last week and I can type again but I have limited motion in the tip because I nicked the tendon.

Hope your DH feels better, my dad has recurring kidney stones and he is in so much pain, it's aweful! Hope he feels better soon!

I am usually close to finished with Christmas shopping by now. I haven't done ANYTHING this year. I am so overwhelmed with all the things I volunteer for. I thought when I quit work it would get better, but now it's worse because people ask me to do more (and I just can't learn to say no).

I wouldn't pay the e-bayers for the ps3 either. I think I would make up a little certificate saying "good for one ps3 redemable in January" Maybe not as exciting, but certainly easier on the wallet. Who knows, maybe after the wonderful trip to WDW that you have planned he will be content and happy to wait until they are more plentiful

If I see a PS3 I will get it for you. :yay:

Thanks for the Christmas gift reminder. I am one of those that is usually done by now and this year I haven't even started. I think DH and I are just doing gift cards for everyone so it shouldn't be too difficult. We don't have kids and we don't really buy for one another so it's just the neices and nephews and our folks. We don't exchange with our siblings thank goodness!
The big bonus is that we hosted Christmas last year so this year is my sister's turn! Whoooo Hooooo!

I would be tickled if anyone could do that. I could pm my cell number in case the situation arises. We have around fifty people at our house ususally at the holidays. However, we moved into a smaller house about 20 minutes away, just because we had it and it was paid for. We are in the process of looking for more land and not in a subdivision. Anyway it is 100 years old. I love the house but there is so much work to be done. No closets and very small kitchen. That being said we are going to sisters this year. We loved having it at our house and I really am going to miss it. That is my family.
Hubbys side is only one sister and her family of four. We go from total chaos with my family to relaxation with his. I love love love the holidays and all that goes with it. We also remind the children and ourselves the true meaning of the season.

We have no less than 25 christmas related videos. We get them out and watch them....It drives dh crazy. I love rudolph, santa coming to town, etc.
He does like home alone and jingle all the way. My children still believe!!!!!

Each December we go to Florida we take the movie a christmas story, we take Jessica Simpson CD and Clay (my mom) CD, we need these to celebrate X mas in FL

I love to watch 'A Christmas Story' - who doesn't want a lamp like that???

I have purchased 4 sets of matching Dash jammies for the 4 boys going on our vacation. It should be a really cute picture!

For the 2 girls, I found a couple of Tinkerbell t-shirts at Wal-mart. I did notice that I have like 5 bags full of 'goodies' to hand out to the kids every day - I am going to need a extra suitcase just for that stuff! I buy up stuff like Disney pens that light up, little stuffed animals, etc. Anything I can substitute for a $25 impulse purchase :-)

I purchased two cute t-shirts for the trip at Walmart last weekend. I figure they are about 25% of what they would be for similar items at the parks and at least these are Disney of my choosing not generic "Disney Parks" shirts. But, that's a whole 'nother thread... :sad2:

Thank you for the Christmas shopping reminder. Joe and I discussed the who-gets-what this evening and all is well. I have only a few gifts to purchase and the rest will be Target cards and good old cash.

Please PM me your cell number and specifically what you are looking for in the PS2 thing and I will see what I can find. I'm not into that ebay scam your fellow man concept either. That is bad karma in my opinion, but if anyone is looking for TMX, I've got several that are priced to move! (no, not really)

Tomorrow we break 60 and I am getting very, very anxious. How's everyone else holding up?

Thank you for responding, i was feeling unloved.

I don't suppose they had those Dash jammies in a size that would fit my 6' - 2?? lb DH?

We dont carry any movies with us as I am lucky to get what I think I have to have packed in a suitcase. Also, we dont have cable or satelite so that is a treat for my children at the hotel. Now road trips are a different story. We would have several packed. I do already have my "tink gifts" for the cruise, I just need to organize them I guess in baggies or something. I have baskets made for the hotel that I am going to ship down early. I would have to think long and hard as to what my favorite Christmas movie is. What are yalls? What are your children wanting for Christmas?

On another note, What awful, awful trajedies(?) that have happened in the schools this week. It is very scary.

I did find potc jammies for my dh at disney. What I couldnt find was disney jammies for dd and ds. The have them for adults and up to size 6 in children but nothing in between. I heard they have a pj party. What I dont know is what age group. I just want to be prepared.

On our last WDW/DCL trip we took Joe's laptop with us and watched movies on the way. If you can, this was a great way to pass the hours on the airplane, especially when we are worked up about GETTING there! (are we there yet?)
I think my favorite Christmas movie has to be It's a Wonderful Life. How amazing would it be to see what the world would be without the gift of 'you'? I always try to inclue bells in my Christmas decor to remind me of the movie and how important we all are to one another.
We saw previews for a movie that will be out in December that is the story of the nativity. It looks very, very good.

This week makes me glad that we don't have kids. Joe and I were discussing that last night, as a matter of fact. What on earth do you tell your kids when they ask about that kind of stuff? Don't worry? Um, no.
