December 1, 2012 Magic Galveston

Our family is also booked on this cruise. We have cruised many times before with several other cruiselines, however this is a first with Disney.

My husband and I have 2 young girls(4 and 1), and have not cruised since having them. So, we are looking forward to taking this trip together.
We are all very excited, however we still have a long wait ahead of us. Hopfully it will fly by soon.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :)

Have a great cruise!

Hi Everyone,
We are sailing the Magic on 12/1/2012 as well!

We took a cruise in January but it was a Carnival cruise.

This cruise will be my husband, myself and our two girls 3 & 8 also Grandma and Poppa.

We are sooo excited about all the activities for the kiddos, would love some tips.

Michelle

We're also going and taking the boys for their first cruise! 4 and 2, plus us. Had booked it a while back and was wondering if any other DISers were going. Finally a thread!

The PP is my DH:) We can't wait! Glad to know there are some DIS'ers other than us on the ship:) :cool1:

This will be our 1st Disney Cruise as a family!!! (DH and I have cruise RC in the past, pre-kids). DH and I are trying to surprise our DD (7) and DS (4), but it's going to get harder and harder as we get closer! :)

Any and all tips are greatly appreciated!

Wow! Keeping it a secret has got to be tough. Our 4 year old already knows about it, but I don't think he knows exactly what it is or comprehends that it is a week long. :lmao: I'm hoping he likes the kid area so we can have a little bit of a break for us, but if not, then I'm hoping the Navigator has some neat things to do on a daily basis.

As far as tips, there are a bunch of threads with all kinds of hints and tricks. We checked out some of the cruise books from the library and read the threads on our first cruise that we took. The only real hint we have for ourselves is to take it at the kids pace so they don't burn out and have major meltdowns from being too tired or over stimulated by stuff. I'm hoping we'll get to decide as a family things to do. We're going to try to schedule our youngest in the Flounder's Reef (2 yr old) so we can eat at Palo's one night.

Also not real sure we are going to be able to keep a 4 yr old up late for the Pirate night. The problem we face is do we try to keep both kids awake or split up and have one with the older at the pirate party and one watching the other sleep in the stateroom?

Either way, hope everyone enjoys the cruise! :thumbsup2

Would anyone else like to participate in a Fish Extender Exchange? I would love to have one on our cruise. I've read so much about them, and they sound fun. I however, have no idea how to organize the exchange. Any ideas??

We'd be interested as well. Haven't participated in it before either, but all the photos of them do look fun. I'm sure the boys would love dropping off little gifts.

Well.. since I didn't see a volunteer for the FE group, I'll give it my best try. I've searched a few other list to gather the details of what all info we need to get started. If you want to participate let me know and I will add you to the list.
:cheer2:
Fish Extenders are a fun activity for the entire family to participate in while on your Disney cruise. Each participating family makes or buys a FE to hang outside your stateroom door. Each FE has at least one pocket for gifts to be left in, most have multiple pockets, one for each member of the family. Either one is perfectly acceptable. There are tons of pictures available online for you to get ideas. Also if you would prefer to buy your FE check out sites like ETSY and ebay. As for the gifts that are put in your FE they are either handmade or purchased. Don't break the bank with the gifts it is the thought that counts. Gifts can be anything you can think of, candy, pencils, magnets, etc. The gifts can be personalized to each individual or family in a stateroom or generic. You can gift as many times as you would like to on the cruise or just once, there is no set of rules. So if you are interested in participating please send me a PM with the following information:

Disboard name:
First names of everybody in your stateroom:
Ages and gender of kids, tweens, and teens in your stateroom
Your stateroom number if you know it:
If you will be celebrating any special event on the week of the cruise:
One FE thread also asked about allergies, that might be a good idea too?

Cut off for FE list is: October 15th. Afterwhich, I will PM each of you the full list of participants. :thumbsup2

Let's get creative!!!
