December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

Has anyone booked any excursions yet? ... Disney or other? What are your plans for the islands?

We have been to these islands several times, but still can't decide what we want to do. We have our own snorkel equipment and definitely want to do some snorkeling (off the beach or a boat excursion) and some beach time for DS6 who probably won't snorkel.

In Cozumel we'll be having a Mexican lunch somewhere. We were so sick of Mexican food after our Mexican Riviera cruise in May (Carnival) but I'm over that and READY for some good Mexican food again. :hyper:

And we definitely have to sample the beer :drinking1
But I don't think we'll be in Red Stripe country - my favorite island beer. Have to go for Coronas or Dos Equis in Cozumel.

Diane, since we're newbies we can't begin booking excursions for about a week yet...but Jeanna has had me in training...my lists and matrix are growing to make sure I don't miss anything.

Jeanna, I confirmed with Jeff and please change us from pencil to pen for brunch on Sunday. Oh, and he doesn't want to be embarassed for his birthday....I just told him not to worry....would we do that? :rotfl:

Kris

Hi Kris. Do you know which excursions you're doing yet? Sounds like you're all set to go at the 75 day mark. I'm just wondering what everyone is doing - especially people with 6 year olds. We had such a great time last year on a Pirate Boat (Eastern) with some of the other families with kids. Hoping to recreate that Magic.

Diane

Diane, this year the kids aren't going....it's just Jeff and me for our first vacation together...but we're scooping out for next year when we'll have the whole crew....all 8 of us. I know I'll be asking for input then!!!!

I just found this site and am very excited. We will be cruising Dec. 3 as well. That includes: DW (me), DH, DS(18 by then) and DD (13). I have not seen too many with kids their ages? Anyone out there? Especially for DD (13).

We will also be traveling with another couple (DH, DW and DS-18).

We have done the eastern Disney Magic Cruise but will be the first Disney cruise for the other couple with us.

Just a question... some of you seem to know your dining rotation..... how did you find that out. We did not do Palo last time but want to this time but was hoping to know the rotation first.

Any input on other shore excursions? Mayan Ruins??? Any thoughts on the trips offered? We did (just hubby and I) a Tulum tour a few years ago on a non- Disney cruise. Just wondering who knows what about these sides?

This is awesome... I love this site.

One more question.... Is there a place you can go to find out what is going on each evening of the cruise? On our last cruise there was an island night... wondering if they still do the same.... what nights are formal, etc.

We have gone once before and had a fantastic time but did little planning. Looks like we need to get going on a few things. ::MickeyMo :Pinkbounc

Hi everyone!
I've been a naughty girl and haven't been checking in lately. The whole family are ready to hop on board right now we are so excited. You'd think this was our first cruise.

DH has a conference to go to in Orlando. We will be at the Coranado Resort or something like that at Disney. We check in on the 29th of November. Now....to figure out if we rent a car for a week (we get to visit the in-laws in Sun City...near Tampa....before that...ugh) or rent a car, turn it in, rent a car, turn it in type of thing. Right now we have a week ressie for the car picking it up in Tampa and dropping it off in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. I do know they have a shuttle to the port, so that's nice. We then have a rental from the port to Orlando airport afterwards....and enough time to bop around town for a spell. I hope we aren't too exausted on the cruise from running around the resorts.

I know my kids, DD who will be 8 and my DS who just turned 9, would love to have pen pals. Isn't someone setting this up? Come out, come out...whoever you are!

Is someone setting up a list of people visiting the Disney resorts prior to sailing?

We set up our brunch already..boo hoo...we will miss you. We did the last sitting, so we could watch as we pull up to Key West. We did that last time and it was perfect. After stuffing our faces, we walked all over Key West. I felt less guilty making a pig of myself. heehee

Hey....is anyone into scrapbooking? I was thinking about bringing some stuff to work on and wondered if anyone wants to get together and "play"!

We will be cruisin with disneyfanaticsrus and this is our first time cruisin. DH, DW and DS-18. Any good information is appreciated :earsgirl: :cheer2:

welcome to the dis glad ur first post on here. we ar nice and helpful

Disney Fanatics and wenevergrowup (LOVE both of your names) - WELCOME. Glad you found the site. It's great. We used if for our first Disney Cruise in 2003 and we arrived on the ship knowing so much. You can ask us questions or ask them on the general cruise site for more responses. Answering some.....

1. Some of us know our dining rotation because we are in the AAA group and I guess we get to pick the rotation. On my past cruises I didn't know until I got to the port.

2. The Navigators list the activities. The are listed on Dave's Site. I'm not sure if I can post the address but I'm trying: www.dcltribute.com
They may be old. We're hoping the people who are on the Western Cruise now (or is it next week?) will send new ones to Dave.

3. I don't think they have the Island Night you remember. Last year it changed to a Pirate Night. But it was LOTS of fun. We were on one of the first to have the Pirate Party pirate: (with fireworks) and we had a great time. :Pinkbounc

Ask away ....

Thanks so much for the info. We called and took care of our dining rotation tonight. Had no idea you could request.

To post for who will be going: DH & DW -Jeff(46) and Lisa (44); also taking DS Josh (18) and DD Lara (13)

We are going because our 18 year old wanted to go one last time before he graduates and goes off to college. We are also Disney lovers and members of Disney Vacation Club. We've been to Disneyland once, Disney World 3X and 7 day cruises- this will be our second.

We are really interested in anything you know about the islands and what to do there? Does Captain Marvins do anything other than stingrays? Have a daughter that wants to swim with the dolphins. :Pinkbounc :grouphug: :cheer2:

Pat....I tried to tell Jeanna that I was a groupie (a Jeanna groupie) but was told that I was just a moocher this year....I don't qualify at a groupie until next year....have to earn it!!!

But don't worry Jeanna....I know that I'm not worthy yet.... :worship:

We are cruisin with disneyfanaticsrus and we are DH Steve 51, DW Karen 48 and DS Nate at 18. I like to refer to this cruise as a celebration of our kids, a promise made when the boys were in 8th grade. We have a long history of Disney vacations beginning with the honeymoon, 3 mos before Nate was born, Nate in 1st grade, 3 consecutive trips in January for the 3v3 Soccer event, Steve's 50th birthday and this cruise. After we dock on 12/10, we are staying at the B&YC for one night so Nate can do the Space Flight at Epcot. Any thoughts on that ride? My husband and I will just enjoy Epcot once again. I think I have alot of studying to do in order to prepare for the cruise to make the most of it. ::MickeyMo

Hey everyone. It's been a long time since I've been able to log in and post anything. We're trying to plan what excursions we're interested in, and wanted to see if anyone had any experience cruising with a toddler (he'll be almost 2 when we cruise) and had any recommendations for excursions or activities that were good or not so good.

Also, any recommendations on when to use Flounders during the week? When, for how long, etc.

Also, Jeanna - I heard you've got great recommendations on planning the week. Any advice you want to pass along, I'm all ears :earsgirl:

We're all paid up with Kim, so we're anxious to get going with the planning!!!
