December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

LOL Kris, only June:rotfl: :rotfl:

We've been planning this cruise since August of 2004, even before we sailed on our last cruise on Nov 13th, 2004.:hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

DH and DF(darling friend)Jeanna are a little OCD. Not that we aren't all just a little bit afflicted, eh Linda and Pat.

I want to announce to all our past and present cruise buds that John and I have quit smoking. I have been smoke free for 11 days and I feel great. I am planning on joining Curves shortly and will hopefully have a new bod to show off in December.:earseek: LOL

John has been smoke free for 5 days, but his biggest challenge will come tomorrow when he has to climb back into his truck and drive. We are hoping by the end of the summer that he will have a local job that he comes home from every night, but until then the stress of being over the road may cause temporary lapses. Keep him in your thoughts and send pixie dust.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Another cruise tip for first time cruisers is the over the door shoe hanger. This thing came in sooooooooooo handy. We are picking up another one for this year so that the kids can have their own, plus a place to put all their shoes.:disrocks:

What a small world...a truck driver. So is Jeff! OTR is a hard life...for both the driver and the family sitting back at home. Jeff is out about 275 days per year on average. That's another reason why this vacation is so important...He's never taken a vacation EVER...you know...if the wheels aren't turning their not making money!

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

Okay guys - I have officially read the entire thread in one sitting to make sure I hadn't missed something!

First, what do you all wear for pirate night? Do you actually dress up in costume of some kind or just add parrots and etc. to normal clothes?

For formal night - do you guys stick to cocktail gowns or go for full fledged Cinderella?

Kris :earsgirl:

kris john and susan had dressed up in a pirate costume :rotfl: . at dinner they gave u a bandana and a dinner menu to take home

Yes Kris, John and I did suprise everyone and dressed up as pirates. We found out last October that tropical night had been changed to pirate night, and what do you know, we found perfect outfits while shopping for Rachel's Halloween costume.

We dress up for formal night, you can take a look at our pics from last year at
http://www.webshots.com/search?query=kycruisecrazy&start=0

You will find pics of formal night, pirate night, pics of the Roy Disney suite. We had a lot of fun, took a lot of pictures and spent way to much on buying pictures that the crew took of us, but I just couldn't say no.

If you have any other questions let me know.
:teacher:

:teeth: Yuppo! Susan and John and the girls looked fabulous on Pirate Night! It made a great Christmas card. :goodvibes

Costumes are optional, but can make the evening more fun. I think I recall something about John having to "swab the decks" during the show. :rotfl:

For formal night, cocktail dresses are fine. I love formal night, because all the little princesses on board are dressed to the nines. I spend most of that night ooohhhing and aaahhing at the adorable little ones.

Sarah (chichihoney) got the mail today, and then screamed at the top of her lungs, "MOM!!!!!". I thought we had won a million dollars. LOL! It was the current Island Gram. She's been working on the towel swan ever since. She is so ruined, I really should have taken her on a Holland America cruise first! We may never be able to try another cruise line! :rotfl:

What's an Island Gram and how can I get one.

Linda I can't believe that you haven't responded in some fashion to the post that John and I have stopped smoking. I thought that would surely get a YIPPEE out of you.:rotfl:

susan you know the chocolate palos souflae recipie in a coconut thats a island gram this island gram is a leave in a paper bamboo mat

congrations on u and john for quiting smoking  :cool1: :goodvibes

I am such a doofus! I did a big ole YIPPEE! when I read it (late at night) and I planned to post that big ole YIPPEE! the next day, but totally forgot. :guilty: But I am sending you both lots of happy, "you can do it" thoughts! :love2:

We've had a very lovely DCL day here, got the "Island Gram" in the mail, then got a call from Pooh Jen, she was in Orlando and was right behind the Disney Express bus, and she thought of Sarah and I. We miss her so much!! Then right before she and I said good-bye, the cell phone rang. It was John! Having our usual DCL chat, LOL! Like I said, it was a lovely DCL day! :sunny:

I agree with Linda, what a great DCL day! I'm so glad I found all you guys - I look forward every day to seeing what's new!

Still debating about whether to do the whole costume thing for pirate night - found some really cool ones online. Been browsing for formals too to get an idea and found some I really like but am going to look locally before buying online - I'm just not sure about buying things without trying them first. :earboy2:

Well, today is the first big day of my diet regiment. My oldest left for her dad's for the summer so with Jeff out on the road it just leaves me and the youngest. Wish me luck...got big goals....want to look good for all of you!! princess:

Susan, I'm right there behind you and John sending you support!! :cheer2:

Kris

Hi Pat:wave: Glad to hear you had a nice time in Cancun.

Kim's # is 815-744-6941

or you could always ask Jeanna, she has the # to the bat phone. lol:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We're sailing with three families cast and crew includes

DH and DW, DS 6, DD 6, DD 6
DH and DW, DD 13, DD's friend 13, DD 7
DH and DW, DS 8

Four out of the six adults are SCUBA divers. Anyone diving on this trip? We normally book our own excursions but have no experience with the Western itenerary so any information would be welcomed.

Thanks so much!

Welcome to our  group. DH says that Grand Cayman has 4 of the top 10 scuba diving locations in the world. Cozomel has 2 of the top 10. No he isn't a scuba diver, he just loves to surf the internet. He would love to become a certified diver but just hasn't found the time.:hourglass

Yippee! Worked some overtime and decided to payy my balance!
Now chichihoney ::MinnieMo ....you better not change your mind :hourglass ...I don't want to have to find another room mate :lovestruc !

:flower: CONGRATULATIONS SUSAN AND JOHN!! What a great gift to yourselves! I know how hard it is to stop, I've been smoke free for about 8 years. I'm also sending lots of "You can do it" thoughts your way!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Susan, good luck at Curves :sunny: :sunny: . I love going. The work out is over before you know it because you can talk to other women the whole time! I have not been going lately because I've been doing the other class in the am, but it was really fun and it worked!

Kris - I second the suggestion of the over the door shoe holder. We bought two clear ones at Target and they kept our room clutter free and stored shoes, sunscreen, cameras, cell phones, kid club pagers/nametags etc. I also brought two folders one drop down with clear compartments and one with just two pockets. I kept menus and souveniers in one and kept our passports, birth certificates, plane, hotel and rental car confirmation info in the pockets of the other. I brought a cardboard/bubble mailing envelope to store pictures that we bought.

SCUBA: My DH and I started Scuba classes before our honeymoon 14 years ago. Greg loved it and had just asked me if there were any divers on this trip. He didn't get certified but would like to before the trip if he had companions. He did a resort course in St. Lucia and they did two dives, one the normal 20 ft. and one for 50 ft. He also did a resort course/20 ft. dive in Barbados. You must have your hands full with triplets!

Excursions: Anyone know what they're doing yet? We had such a nice time last year on our group excursions. They were some of the highlights of our trip!

Have a great day everyone!
Gailyn :flower:

Thank Gailyn for all your input. Keep it up - I'm soaking it all in like a sponge!

Well...I can quit obsessing-got my formal today. :cool1: Took the 6 yr. old with me shopping...oh if she wasnt' supportive about stuffing ole' mom into dresses!!! :rotfl2: It was was 15% off - bonus. Then found a dress for semi formal was 77% off...what a deal! Got such a deal I was able to get my shoes and etc. today too! Now I can focus on the diet and etc. For some reason today's workout kicked my booty royal.

Jeff's still not sure what he's going to wear :confused3 or should I say what I'm going to have him wear. But, with my stuff today I got a $25.00 discount towards suit/tux rental if he decides to rent rather than buy.

Kris
