Our last trip home was Feb this year. It was our first visit in late winter. We were so suprised with the short lines and decent weather. This might be the time of year we choose to always go. BUT... I can't help but wonder if we will have just as good of luck in December?

No, you will not have as good of luck in my opinion, but to hit the least crowded times I would shoot for the first week of December. Possibly the second, but that's it. After that, kids are out of school and the crowds descend!!

The first two weeks of December are fine, but not as quiet as early February. Lately, the early December times have been more popular than in the past.

We have been to WDW a number of times in both early Dec and early to mid Feb. Most of the time in Feb we have had very nice weather, however, I do remember one week that found us on the first tee at Eagle Pines at 10AM in a drizzle with 50 degree temps. It was actually better weather at our home in Minneapolis that day. Fortunately by the end of the week it was in the low 80's and was a very nice ending to the vacation. We have been to WDW several times in early Dec and have had some of the same experiences with the weather. Our last trip was last Dec and we did have a couple of cooler days (mid 60's) but it was a great vacation over all. The crowds will be a little heavier in the early Dec time frame but by no means are they unmanagable. I think everyone should go to WDW at least once between Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. They decorate the place to the 9s. Each of the resorts has a Christmas tree themed to the theme of the resort. MVMCP is a lot of fun and has a great parade and fireworks. They even make it "snow" on Main Street at the end of the evening. While I don't think I would ever go Christmas/New Years week, the early Dec crowds are managable and the decorations and events make the trip a real experience. The early Dec time frame is becomming a very hot season for DVC. We got our reservations early, but we played golf with a couple on Eagle Pines who were owners and were not able to get into any DVC accomodations at the last minute for their stay. I don't recall if they told us how long before the trip they tried to make reservations, but they did indicate it was relatively last minute and there was no availability anywhere.

Thanks for the replies!
Our first trip to WDW was on our honeymoon in 2000. We were married on Dec 30th, so we were able to see all the beautiful Christmas decorations. We have a brand new baby now and can't wait to take him. If we wait until the first week in Dec, he'll be all but 8 months old. I know he wont remember it, but we sure will! It wont really matter how long the lines are, due to the fact he is so little, there are probably isn't much he can do yet. Luckly the "single" lines are always fast and easy.

We love going in Feb, plan on using that time as a yearly event.
I'll never go again in the summer or fall... way too hot and crowded.
