Well it is time to think of our vacation plans this year. Yes we are planning late. We usuallly go in Sept/Oct so we can enjoy the warm weather and the pools. We do not go to the parks every day. This year we are thinking of going sometime the first two weeks in Dec. We want to see the Xmas stuff and go to Mickeys Christmas Party. However will we be disappointed because of the weather? Is it warm? Can we swim? Thanks for all your help!!

One thing is that that is a busy DVC time so get your reservations in as soon as you make up your mind. As to swimming, you never know. One day is hot, the next cold. We have gone for the last three New Year's and we have always found some swim time. But other days we had to dress in layers.

But it is a great time of the year to go. Low points and great decorations. Try it once and see if you like that time of year.

Agree with HBC.

Great time to go.

Weather ranges from cold to hot - varies quite a bit from year to year in our experience.

Get your reservation asap - your choices may already be limited.

Best wishes -

We were there Dec. 18th to the 23rd '04 and we enjoyed the warm heated pools, SSR and BWV on only 2 of the days. Some of those days were very cool, nights/evenings were cold.

I have little ones and it is usually too chilly for much swimming. Disney does let them in the hot tubs though! :goodvibes

If swimming is a highlight for you, December will be a risk. That being said, we had gorgeous weather the first week of this past December--warm days and cool nights. The extra events and decorations more than make up for a chance of cool weather for us, so we'll be going in early December whenever possible. YMMV.

Thanks everyone for the information. We decided to go the first week in Dec. to see something new. If it's too cold to swim I am sure we will find lots of other things to do. Guess I have to pack more clothes. We will be in DISNEY so who can complain.
