Wow.....after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, our trip "home" is just two days away!

I'm trying very hard to get my Christmas shopping done before we leave, except for a few odds and ends, so it's been nuts around here lately. Everytime I think I am done, I see an incredible bargain and run out to get it. I don't even know what I have any longer. I think when we come back from vacation, I'm going to have to take inventory and return a few things.
I feel so disorganized for this trip. I have the suitcases open and have been throwing things in all week as I think of them, so I have no idea what's in there and what I still need. I'm going to have to empty them out later today.
Oh well.....whatever I forget, I can always pick up there. As long as I have my son's meds and my mascara, we're golden!
I am the single adoptive mom to a DS5 with special needs (developmental behavioral issues) so the past week has been a very stressful one. He is only 5 and in kindergarten and so far he has been suspended twice due to behavior -- the 2nd time was two days ago. We really need this trip. I'm looking forward to having no plans (except for MVMCP one night) and am praying for weather warm enough to swim. (Swimming is very therapeutic for my son.) The Weather Channel is predicting high 60's to low 70's, so it's not as warm as I would prefer, but as long as it's sunny, we'll be fine. My son would swim in colder weather, so I have a feeling we'll be braving the cooler weather at the pool. I may just have to "suffer" in the hot tub.
If the weather doesn't warm up enough, we can always do some resort-hopping to check out the decorations. That's the great part about going this time of year -- with the Christmas theme, it's a different experience. This is our first Christmas trip, so I am excited that the two of us will be sharing this "first" together.
Our first night we are staying at BLT for the first time. I booked past the 11 month mark, but before the 7 month mark, so I was only able to get that one night and my waitlist never came through. We arrive late morning, so while we wait for our room to be ready, we are planning to ride the monorail and check out the decorations at the Poly and GF. Since that will be our only night there, I'd like to check out TOTWL to see the fireworks that night. I also want to activate our annual passes and pick up our MVMCP tickets.
The rest of the week we will be at AKV Kidani. This will be our 2nd stay there and I'm looking forward to seeing "our" animals again. We really enjoyed the resort the last time we were there. I love how peaceful it is -- it's very relaxing. Contrary to the comments of others, we had no problem at all with transportation and I hope we have a similar experience.
I could use a few prayers, along with a dash of pixie dust, that we have a good trip. I pray that my son will have a peaceful week so that we can both enjoy it and reap the benefits of a real vacation.
