Hey Ian, can we include a column for character on the Fish Extender list? I am going to include something personalized on mine, and I would love to be able to use everyone's favorite character when I make them if possible![]()
I think that would be kind of cool. I hope everyone gets back to you on that one. Id have to ask Laura what hers would be but mine would be the BOSS HIMSELF, MICKEY! But second to Mickey would be FIGMENT

Im the DISNEY FANATICHow can you not know your wife's favorite character? What kind of a husband are you?![]()
Mine is Goofy.
I could talk all day about Disney. I would enjoy sitting on a bench in WDW somewhere just watching People. I retired early, and we have points in DVC so I get my Disney fix more often now
, I guess her favourite character could be Eeore. Back in 1972 when MK first opened Laura went there and got an Eeore stuffed animal and a inexpensive Eeore watch. 4 years ago she lost her Eeore watch. The last few years we have been going to WDW first 2 weeks of DEC. Without her knowing I went into the watch store on Main st while we were watching the Christmas Parade and talked to the Artist who did the watches. We were leaving in 2 days so he told me to come back the next day and it would be ready. The next day we were watching the Spectromagic Parade, once it ended I told Laura I wanted to go into the Pin store to look at Pins. While we wandered thru the store she was looking at the watches. She told me she liked the Eeore watches maybe oneday she would get a cheap one for work. Sooooooooo, I said lets ask the Artist about the watches. He recognized me and showed her the Personalized watch he made for her. I said, Merry Christmas thats yours. I just made a short story long, but I think her favourite character is Eeore, but I will ask her.Awww. What a nice surprise for your wife! I'm sure she loves the watch.
I go ever year in early December as well. I'm surprised our paths didn't cross already (or maybe they have--considering how many DISers I've met, it's hard to remember them all).
. He's changed his mind since then! Our paths crossed many years ago (I think it was Dec., 2003). You were the first DIS'er that my husband ever encountered. Up until that moment he suspected that DIS'ers were just my imaginary friends. He's changed his mind since then!

Were you the ones at the POFQ who I kept on running into over and over again on the trip?
eta: wait, that wasn't it. I didn't stay at the POFQ in 2003--I stayed at the CBR and BWI that trip.
No, we were at Riverside that trip. We ran into you at DHS (I guess it was MGM back then). We ran into two DIS'ers within minutes of each other. I don't remember if it was you or TownCrier John who encountered my (adult) son walking around with my backpack with my DIS ID on it. My son came over to me when I came back and said that someone was shocked to find out that HE was BethC1952! My granddaughter, who was 3 at the time, thought it was very funny that someone thought her daddy was a girl.

Six months from today at this time I should be flying somewhere over New York!
.... and first cruise ever for hubby and DS!
We're about to book this cruise after much debate on which one to take. Aside from a cruise I took at age 19 on a VERY old ship (that has since sank), we've never been on a cruise before. We have a son who will be 5 at the time of our trip and something tells me he will be the perfect age for this! Anyone else have a 5 year old on this cruise?
I hope to hear back from the travel agent today so I can finally book this. We were debating between this one, and the Dec 3rd 7 night cruise on the Magic. The 7 night cruise went to places we'd like to go. We love St. Thomas, and we've never been to St. Martin, so that was a plus. However if we weren't fond of cruising, that's a long time to be stuck somewhere. The 4 night seems like a good trial run and we can always do a longer trip another time if we love it. Based on the comments on these boards, something tells me we're going to love it.
I had a question about the rooms. Do you think it's worth it to go with the 299 sq. ft rooms vs the 246 sq. ft, and is there really much difference between the decks? I would imagine the view is just as amazing on Deck 6 as it is on Deck 7, but I could be wrong. Any tips on picking a room? I tend to suffer from motion sickness and I was told the lower floors and the middle of the ship would be best. I'm sure there is SO much to do that you hardly spend any time in your room anyway, so perhaps I'm putting too much thought in to this!
Looking forward to my introduction to Disney Cruises!

dvc deernut,
Thanks for the info and the guidance. My travel agent didn't get back to me, so I have time to change my room request and ask to be certain I'm in the center of the ship. I fully anticipate wearing patches, wrist bands, and/or taking meds to keep from getting sick..... whatever it takes.
It appears that the early dining is no longer available, but I hear that sometimes if you keep checking back you are able to change it, and you can possibly change it once you board the ship. Do you know if that is correct?
South Hadley is about 2 hours away from me, as I'm about 45 minutes outside of Boston.
Thanks again for your help!
Another good idea for seasickness is to eat green apples. I learned this from a fellow DIS'er who's in the Air Force. We had hit some terrible weather, and I was REALLY seasick. I couldn't imagine eating anything at all, but after two apples and wearing the sea bands I was just fine. I wish I had met her before the third day of that cruiseI fully anticipate wearing patches, wrist bands, and/or taking meds to keep from getting sick..... whatever it takes.
!
