I'm planning a trip for next December, 4th-18th. The 18th is the Saturday before Christmas. Is this getting too close to Christmas break and the big crowds? I'll be traveling with 4 adults and two toddlers so would like to be there during the slow time, but still experience Christmas.

We went this last Dec 9-15 and it was nice. The only down fall was staying at POR during pop warner. The buses were packed. We had my grandson and needed to use the stroller. It sucks being on a packed bus standing with a stroller and a baby. But the parks were not too bad.
Just make sure to prepare for all kinds of weather. It was raining and very cold and then it was sunny and warm.

We went this past Dec 12-19th.It was great the crowds only started to build on the 18th

We were there this past Dec. 11-18. We saw 1 day that was a 7 for crowds and was busy but not bad. The rest of the time was nice and we had Epcot almost to ourselves one morning!

We were there from the 18th - 28th and the first week was awesome. We always try to go a week or 2 before Christmas. I suspect since Christmas is on a Saturday this year, it won't get busy until the 18th - 22nd as people start school vacation.

We have been during the early part of your trip and it was good! I would avoid the values during pop warner (we stayed deluxe and were fine), but parks were good. Not as empty as when we have done January but fine. Make ADRs as resturants seem to be busy during this time!

We were in the parks Dec. 9-16, 2006 and loved it so much we are returning in December this year (13 - 18). Can't wait!

We only stood in lines a couple of times during the week, and even those lines were nothing compared to visiting "in season." We received Fastpasses in (what was) MGM, but the crowds were so low we never used them - they came home and went into the scrapbook.

We went last Dec 13-19. The beginning of the week was walk on for everything or a very brief (less than 5 min) wait. The crowds picked up as the week progressed. On the 19th, I ran to Downtown Disney to pick up a last minute gift, and it was wall to wall people. I was glad that we were leaving that day because the amount of people seemed to explode overnight.

we have been 2 times during that week- it is great! this past time we stayed at ASMu family suite- while we really like the room - the resort wasn't for us after having stayed to CBR the first time- we felt much more relaxed and uncrowded i guess at CBR (yes we did have alot of pop warner at our hotel- there were everywhere!) and we didn't like the bus service from the values- but that's just us- and you aren't there for the hotel!-- It is a PERFECT time to go Have fun!!

We went December 13-19 and it wasn't bad at all. Most rides where walk in and get right on. We loved it and plan on going back at thiss time. The only thing we had trouble with was the weather. We got cold a couple days. I remember one day it got down to 40... I live in Iowa so 40 isn't to bad to us. But, I didn't pack any coats or gloves and I was miserable. :sad1: I don't think you will have any problems with the crowds I would suggest bring layers though. Other then that enjoy!!!

I go 3 or 4 times a year and IMO the week you have chosen is the best time to go. No crowds, great weather and christmas decorations as well as the christmas party. Bring layers, hats and gloves, because it is December and the weather is changeable. My Disney traveling buddy always thought she would hate going then because of the cold but I finally talked her into going with me a couple of years ago and now she goes then every year - as well as a couple of other times as well!!! LOL!

Thanks everyone! We've never gone in December but have always wanted to experience all of the Christmas displays. It sounds like this will be doable!
