Yes, I've been traveling alone since my husband died. Let's just say I'm a baby boomer who thinks like a genX. My "kids" don't get to travel, just because they have 4 paws and a tail!

Whew - so we are packed for our semi formal and formal portions of the cruise in what I like to call our "cruise bag" - meaning when we go to disneyworld we won't have to open the bag. Also put Sydney's and my snorkel gear in there since we had the room and all of our swimwear since we won't be swimming at WDW.

Then tonight I finished packing for the kids in what I like to call the "kids bag" - see a trend? One more bag to pack and that will be either Thursday or Friday of this week.

I've been eyeing the weather pretty good and it has changed from day to day but what I have found is the local weather/tv stations tend to have a more spot on then some of the other ones I have used in the past.

Yup (to use Grim's word lol). I have to wait a couple of hours for my TA to open (Costco) since they're on the west coast, but yes I'm happy she decided to join us. So everyone be on your best behavior Artie so that poor Kathy doesn't end up wishing she were dining alone!


I'm sitting here waiting for a tow truck to pick up my car. I donated it to Kars-4-Kids, since it's sorta shot and my brother, who's moving to England, is giving me his fairly new Dodge Caravan. I'll miss my Bessie car, had her for almost 10 years, and spent a lot of time driving her all over the place, but it's time because she's starting to cost me big bucks with old-age repairs. Tig, I promise to try to keep her clean!

The bad thing is that I'll be wheel-less for the month of January, until Chad goes to North Dakota to drive the new car back. Oh well, I'll just go stir crazy or be taking the subway everywhere, but I'll miss my joy-riding. At least I'll be saving a month's worth of gas!

I still have major packing to do. I can't believe I let it go and haven't seriously started yet. Tomorrow will be one week until we leave for WDW, so probably tonight I'll at least get Jesse completely done. We're having houseguests for the weekend, so it's going to be crazy here. I'm not really looking forward to it.

took a bit to chip the ice off the car but got the kid to school

part of me was hoping for a snow day and we could get some stuff done but the other 1/2 was hoping for school

We have our bags all packed and weighed, 3 carry ons and 3 checked (49.5 lbs each). I think I'm going to go back and take out a bunch of crap I don't need to see if I can lighten them up so we can bring a few souvies home.

WDW HOLIDAY DINING - Addition

The Diamond Horseshoe in the Magic Kingdom will be open for dinner December 24-31 from 5 -9 p.m. ($29.99 for adults; $15.99 for ages 3-9.) Prices do not include tax or gratuity. Dinner will be served family-style, all-you-care-to eat, and will offer roasted turkey breast, carved beef, pork loin, mashed potatoes, among other items.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will make its 2008 daytime debut on December 20 at 3 p.m. in the Magic Kingdom. After that, the parade will be presented twice daily the remainder of the week, at noon and 3:30 p.m. The Holiday Wishes Fireworks will also begin regular showings beginning at 9 p.m. on December 20 and for the remainder of the week.

oh no.....we may have to borrow 'Mom's' wheelchair in the evenings to deliver Artie back to his stateroom.....

That implies that mom isn't going to be drinking with us, WRONG!!!! She will be there with her magarita in hand , maybe we can sit on her lap

Got Mom mostly packed yesterday, still need a pair of new fancy shoes for her and a couple of shirts, but I think I'm going to not bother on the shirts and buy while travelling for her to wear.

I have the kids stuff started on the couch, need to find a few things that are MIA for them. How can my kids lose their clothes in their own house????

of course now it's cause they are *wearing* each other's clothes

back then, we had trolls that lived under the beds and feasted on their shoes and clothes and jackets, etc....

We are wearing pirate T shirts as well.

You are not alone on the clothes issue, most people like to have a walk-in closet, Owen has a walk-on closet (his whole room is sometimes a walkon closet). A while ago Claudia gave Owen some laundry to take to his room to "put away". She probably should have been more specific, she found it a couple of weeks later thrown under a bunch of stuff in his closet.

We won't even talk about what is going on under his bed.
