I don't bother rushing out to get wrapping stuff because I always find 50% off sales on those things between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Hobby Lobby usually has several 50% off sales during the season on wrapping paper, tissue, plates, napkins, gift boxes/bags, etc..

Now after waiting a few days I do hope to get lucky and pick up some things at 75% off at Target -- namely the candy. I buy the candy bars that have red candy wrappers and give those out to my class for Valentine's Day. I also buy the big red foil-wrapped Hershey's kisses at 75% off and give those to my kids and DH for part of their Valentine's Day gifts. Those large kisses come in the same exact box that Target puts out for Valentine's Day. I also get the red tissue paper to use for Valentine's Day.

I think the stores have cut back and don't have as much extra as they used to. I remember a few years ago I bought gobs and gobs of candy at 90% off so it was around 30 cents per bag and the shelves were full of them. That was not the case last year, so we'll see what comes this year.

Don't forget: The Christmas clearance candy can be saved for a couple months. Red candy for Valentine's Day and green for St. Patrick's Day.

That's what I was saying. No rush to get up at the crack of dawn to get just 50% off when I can get that price next year almost any time. The less I have to store away for a year, the better. Now 75% or 90%, I'm there -- but not 50%.

I'm watching for the Yankee Candle sale! I believe the last couple years the Christmas items went 1/2 off on the 26th.

The sale starts at opening tomorrow - large jars (selected scents) $15 or 2/$25, medium jars $12 or 2/$20, $5 baby jars...all fall & holiday accessories, home fragrance, car fragrance, etc. 50-75% off, all props 75% off. All holiday gift sets 50% off.

I always hit Macys for their Christmas decor, Target and Yankee Candle. This year I'll also be hitting Bath and Body Works (their semi annual sale is already posted online). I wish I had a HomeGoods store near me, they always had the best after-Christmas decor on sale! It's hard living so far from everything!

I usually hit Target for wrapping paper and bows. I try to get solid colored wrapping paper that can pass for birthdays, etc. And if I had my eye on a particular decoration that is still there I might grab it.

BonTon have their holiday yankee candles on sale for 50% off plus you can use in store coupons. Same for Boscovs too (not sure about coupon).

Their 50% sale started on Wednesday and with their in store coupon I paid $9 for the large jars (24.99 reg). THis is only for the holiday scents.

I got a ton of great stuff at Sam's Club- stuff was marked way down! Lots if Christmas wrap, decor and foid gifts, plus lots of toys - some of it was well over 75 percent off.

i hit a few stores today and got some good deals

first i hit Kohls, all holiday stuff was 70% off

i bought the Holiday photo holders (3 packs) marked down to $6.00

then went off to the Mall..

Gap - had an add'l 40% off sale prices..

got my boys a few shirts marked down to 6.99 w/ an add'l 40% off and two pair of pants 1 jeans and 1 Athletic 15.00 each w/ add'l 40% off

Sears - had winter coats outerwear 70% off - got a pair of snow pants for my son for next year $30.00 got it for 9.00!

JC Penny got a robe for my son for $12.00

then i hit Macy's and got myslef 2 pair of pj's originally 52.00 each - marked down 50% plus i had a 15 off 50 coupon so 2 pairs for $37.00!

I left the mall about 1:30p and it was getting PACKED!
