Dec 24-28: crowd levels?

We love going that week. Don’t get me wrong. The crowds are insane, but if you plan properly, manage your expectations, and rope drop, you will have a magical trip!

It's a week I'd never, ever suggest anyone go who doesn't go frequently. I have however, changed my POV for experienced and/or repeat guests. I think folks who go often, importantly, folks who can go at other times also, can go and temper their expectations and know going in they are not going to have the same type of trip as they have any other time of the year.

If it's someone's only trip for the year or for a few years, or even worse, only trip ever, I think it's a horrible idea to go that week. I honestly suggest they not go at all vs. going that week. Do anything to plan for another date. You get so little done it's just not the same as going any other time.

This, exactly. We caved and are going the week leading up to Easter this year, but only because the kids are out of school and we got AP's for our other trips, so our tickets that week are basically "free." We *think* we know what we are getting ourselves into and have reasonable expectations.

We are going for the first time at Christmas this year and staying off site (12/26-12/30).Expectations are low, but we will FP what we can. We have AP'S and usually go June/July so are kind of used to crowds, even though the week of Christmas will be crazy!

LOL. Never been to Tokyo, but I'm guessing its comparable to Moscow at rush hour where public transit basically become cattle cars.

Maybe!

Has the Moscow subway been known to employ "pushers" to maximize the number of people packed into each car?

(What really impresses me is how everyone's staying to their side of the white line painted on the ground - no railings required!)

WOW! That is a whole new level of packing people in. In Russia, they pack in to the point you can't turn around, but no I didn't see any "pushers".

I wish Disney guests would stay behind the lines. I've lost count of how many times the tram driver has to repeatedly announce for folks to stay behind the lines so the tram can depart while somebody obliviously stands there fully past the line.

Don't you know by now, at Disney, those are the guests who think "they mean for everyone but me to move, I can't possibly be in the way" There's always "they mean everyone but me" folks

I concur. We go 9th to 26th December most years and as the trip goes on the crowds get crazier. MK on Christmas Day is ridiculous. The traffic to get there, the queue for security, the monorail, getting into the park then moving around the park was impossible. We did it once and never again, we now go to Epcot on Christmas day, which is busy, but much more bearable. On 26th we do rope drop EMH at MK or HS, utilise our FP+ and just enjoy the atmosphere, food, shops, shows etc knowing the lines will be long for the attractions. Go expecting chaos and you might be pleasantly surprised if it's not as bad as that.

That is what inside the bubble means.

The air is different, folks breathe it in - some have a reaction - and all common sense, rules and manners are now gone.

It's not even limited to Disney. It's spread all through society.
We no longer travel to road football games due to the behavior in bold taking over. Used to be more or less limited to students and we could avoid the student sections. Now it's spread to grown @$% adults who should know better when it comes to how you treat guests. It's no longer fun so I refuse to put myself in a position to be ridiculed, called names and made fun of, for a game I had nothing to do with, by my peers.
