Dec 2012 chances??

Hi,

I just got a bonus at work (totally unexpected!!) so yesterday we put in a request for a 2 bedroom villa through Davids rentals. We are going from Sun Dec 16 - Fri Dec 21. This was our order of preference:

Wilderness Lodge
Boardwalk
Beach Club
Bay Lake

Today there is currently nothing available so we said we would just wait until something came up. With it being just under 11 months what are the chances that something will come up fairly quickly? Would it be better to pick something else or will more come up at the 7 month mark if people start changing their reservations around?

I've never done this before and I'm not sure I understand the process 100% LOL

You were told there is no availability at any of those resorts? BLT is available for a 2 BR in both lake and theme park views. Only standard view is not available for those dates. Are you sure you were told there is nothing open? That is really weird.

I agree I also see the same availability at BLT. I also see availability at AKV in all views except value and concierge. Good luck I hope they can find something for you .

I also am questioning what you were told or that maybe your request was misunderstood. There's availability at BWV in all 3 categories and at VWL in addition to BLT lakeview. I'd contact David's rental again - or maybe check on the DIS rental boards for someone to rent points from.

remember that David has other members make the reservations. Maybe he does not have any members who have points at those resorts who are willing to make a ressie.

That's a good point. I would never have thought of that if I'd been told there was nothing available. Congrats on the bonus, hope you find someone to rent points from!

I just booked a stay through David's for Oct and was told that while dates were open, they did not have any points to rent at the resort I requested. They said it would probably be two-three weeks before they received points to rent, so I said to hang onto my request. Well, two days later my BWV request came through.

Make sure that they keep you on their hold list if that's the way you'd like to go. Ours came through really quickly.
