What are the three best days during December to go to DL? By best I mean lowest crowds, but full holiday fun??? I am willing to take the kid out of school for a few days.......

I would pick Mon-Tue-Wed, the second week of December. Not the first because they close early for Cast Member parties the first week and Candlelight Processional is almost always the first weekend! Plus kids aren't out of school yet so it's not crowded. We went this year Dec 10-13 and it was great!

Ideally I would say T-W-Th but I know with pulling out of school you really most likely can't go right in the middle of the week.

Okay I just looked at the actual calendar for December and in a perfect world, I myself would (and hopefully will!!!) pick Dec 10,11,12, or 13. Anywhere in there will be okay crowd wise and holiday stuff will be in full swing (possibly minus the EP since that started after all were out of school this year!)

I'm with Andrea on her recommendations! Drive in Sunday, hit it M-T-W and then run home!

Sorry to hijack, but PattiPB, how was your adults only trip???
Hope you had a great time!!!

abby - I remember you and I were at the HOJO at the same time in October! We had a great time at the Halloween Treat! Wish they would do a Christas party too!

Hi Andrea!

Find my "cheating on DL" thread. I posted an update on it after I got home. It was AWESOME and relaxing. Now I'm counting down to MLK at DL!!!!!

Hubby and I went this Dec 6th-14th and the crowds were not all that bad. The only time it was bad was on Friday and Saturday. Friday night was soooo crowded!:crowded: so we just sat and waited until mostly everyone left to get up and leave the park and then on Saturday we went to Universal Studios. other than that it was probably the best time to go because kids were still in school. Most of the rides were 10-15 minute wait sometimes shorter. Most kids got out the 15th for Christmas break which was a day after we left. Perfect time and the weather was also pretty good. Hubby and I are booking are Dec 2007 trip next month. Can't wait!!!

That is exactly what I have read too, except they don't run the parades, fireworks & Fantasmic during the weekdays, right??? So, if you want to experience those (which I do), then I would have to go on a Sunday or Friday - right??

The fireworks run every single night of December (barring weather) and the parade ran everyday also, it just runs twice a day on the weekends. The only thing we missed out on was Fantasmic which isn't a big deal to me. I only need to see it about 1-2 times a year!

I would love a chirstmats party, thought maybe I was disney'd out after the last trip (our third in 18 months) but these boards (and family drama) make me want to go back.

I remember a post from you about thinking you had been going too much, you were gonna put off another trip for awhile!! Glad to see your senses have come back!!!

So, if I wanted to do Disneyland in Dec (early), then I should do the weekdays for most anything & maybe hit the Adventure Park on the Friday or Sunday (I read they are not as busy on the weekends as DL itself is) & jump over to DL for the Fantasmic that night?
I have never done DL only WDW (once), so I would like to see their Fantasmic....any other suggestions for an early Dec trip? We also want to do Universal, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Lego Land, etc. we will probably be there for 10 days to hit it all. Also looking for a close neighboring hotel w/indoor pool - nothing fancy, just a place to sleep & swim, any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

I would suggest going the M, T, W before Christmas. This year there were NO crowds and the hours are longer so you can do the most rather than no crowds in early Dec. with shorter hours. You can read my TR in the TR section about the Wed. Definitely recommend it.

Well the one we stay at frequently is the Desert Inn and Suites which is right across the street and has an indoor pool and spa, although they are just small squares but they do the job! It is clean and relatively inexpensive. THe site is anaheimdesertinn.com

I would do weekdays, but we hop back and forth a lot during the days. If you go to DL say Saturday morning, once it gets to busy just walk a few feet and go to CA. Then you can spend a few hours there and head back for Fantasmic.

We did the San Diego / DL trip in 2003, and I always like to do the San DIego portion first because I like to end my trip with DL. If I planned that trip, here is my picks.

arrive Friday night
Saturday- San Diego Zoo
Sunday - Sea World
Monday - leave around 8am - hit Lego Land (it's on the way to DL!!) and after leaving Lego Land, drive the rest and spend the night in Anaheim
Tuesday - DL/DCA
Wednesday - Dl/ DCA
Thursday - DL/DCA or off day (not sure if you wanted one, possible beach depending on time of year)
Friday - DL/DCA
Saturday - Universal Studios (I pick this for Saturday because DL is busy, but mostly because of no severe rush hour for your drive to US on this day!)
Sunday - DL /DCA
Home on Sunday night or Monday morning!

That would be how I would work the trip!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
