Dec 2005 trip (Port Orleans)??

Possibly looking to go for Xmas/New years 2005 (We stayed at CBR in DEC 2003, same time period). Looking for feedback on the Port Orleans resorts (both resorts). Good pts, bad pts, food, pool, room service, distance to parks, etc. I called WDW for price quotes and the packages I heard were HALF the price of the Boardwalk Inn. As much and as spoiled as I am, its just way too much $$$ this year.

Any input would be helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only stayed at Riverside but I liked it very much. Getting to the parks wasn't bad because we took the bus. They do share a bus with the other resort and French Qtr is first to be dropped off and picked up.

The pool is nice and the food court was nice as well.

Riverside is a nice resort. Boat ride to DTD is pretty nice too. Haven't stayed at FQ yet.

We like POFQ better. More manageable resort, better pool, better food court, nicer theming, rooms were renovated about 2 years ago, you're picked up first on the bus runs so you have a good chance of getting a seat, boat direct to DTD with no stops, elevators in every building, etc.

Now, POR did have Old Man Island and the rental boats but you can still use them if you stay at POFQ, you just take a bus down or walk the path.


Have a great time...you really can't go wrong!

Were staying at POFQ early Dec. 05, were so excited we went there this past year to check it out and we loved it...

We stayed at the POR in 2002 and we loved it. I really liked how we could take a boat ride to Down Town Disney. The rooms, hotel, bar, gameroom, pool and food were great. Had no problems at all with the buses either. We really enjoyed our stay there.

DH and I have only stayed at PO-FQ once. We had a great experience. The resort is not very big. The only downside for us was the restaurant was closed. So the only food that was available was the food court.
