Welcome aboard, Jim & Chris!! We don't have 3-day experience, but we've been on a couple of 4-day cruises. They are good, if you've never cruised before, as a way to "get your feet wet", so to speak. But we got addicted and now feel a 4-day is TOO SHORT!! That's why we're doing this one as the 2nd half of a back 2 back--so we get 7 full days of cruising!

Looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing in all the FE fun! I can't believe there are more participants on this cruise than there are on the 4-day just before! It seems the shorter the cruise, the fewer are interested in the FE. Thank you all for proving that theory wrong!!!

Welcome Jim & Chris!

We have been on 2 - 7 day as well as 2 DVC member 4 day cruises and would like to go 7 days or longer if we can. We have a B2B planned for March and wil be going B2B for the member cruise next September, the oportunity came up to get spend a couple of days in WDW so we are just trying a 3 day land as well as 3 day at sea to see if we like it.

I am sure it will be great just to spend a couple of days on board.

Jim

Have any of you ever stayed at the Radisson Resort at the Port? We keep going back and forth on where to stay the night before the cruise. I saw this resort on Mousesavers and thought maybe try it.

Hi - We have our room numbers (finally) -

Edwin, Sharon, Dennis, & Jennifer - Room 2134

Brandon, Michelle, & Jaden - Room 2077

I'm progressing on our FE gifts ... hopefully they will turn out like I have envisioned them. Ha ha ha. I'm getting excited. :lmao:

I am looking for something that night, but near the airport. I don't know anything about the port hotels. Time is moving on!

Everytime we agree on a hotel we come up with another reason to stay somewhere else. We were going to stay on Disney property the day we arrive and then drive to the port in the am. Then we thought stay closer to the port so the day of the cruise we won't have to drive. I never thought picking a hotel for one night could be so difficult.

If you are using your own car, you may want to look into hotels at the port that offer packages letting you leave the car with them. Folks have reported that is cheaper than at the port.

Thank You. I called the Radisson and they allow you free parking while you are on the cruise. Their nightly rate was really cheap. $89 for the night. Do you know what is a good time to arrive at the port? I heard get there early to get a good boarding number.

Wow ... what a great rate. Plus you get a shuttle to the port??? Parking at the port is $15/day, correct? So we are talking $45 - $60 for our time frame. Good deal for you!!!!!! :)

I will have to check with DW. I believe they start letting folks into the terminal at around 10AM. She knows better than I.

Yes they said parking at the hotel is free and they offer free shuttle service back and forth. I think this is where we will spend the night on the 1st.

:rotfl: Yes, dear, they let people in that early. In fact, if I remember correctly, they open up about 9:30 and start checking folks in about 10. There is a really neat cutaway model of the Magic or the Wonder to check out and it makes a great place for a photo op, too. There's a TV with Disney cartoons for the kiddies (big kids, too) and characters come out for photo ops. I had my pic taken with Minnie and I think I saw the chipmunks later. Even the floor tiles are cool--I got a charge out of them, anyway. The terminal will probably be all decorated for the holidays, too, so if you're into decor, there will be that to examine. Oh, and there's a small snack bar, and I DO mean snack, no real food.

If you have kids who are too antsy to sit and watch the TV for a couple of hours, there's no sense in getting there so early. Then again, the later you arrive, the greater the risk of a long check-in line. There's not much in the way of seating--not like the airport or anything.

Generally, they start the actual boarding process about 11:45 or noon.

Awesome. Thank you for all the info. I think we will plan on getting there between 9:30-10. No kids so getting there early and waiting won't be a problem.
