Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Good Morning All

There was a mention of a dis meet in Palo, I am cruising with my 2 DDs who are not old enough to go to Palo, but I would like to go to Palo.

If someone is going to get a group up would you mind if I tag along? Or if there is anyone that is in the same situation I am in maybe we could book together. I just don't want to be sitting there all alone.

thanks

Again be sure to check out the MouseFest cruise schedule everyone. There are a lot of events planned and it should be lots of fun!

I'm proud to be an underlying sponsor for this year's event.

For the land portion, MagicMeets will be holding an event called MuppetMeets at Muppetvision at the Studios. We are also co-hosting the Safari meet with Deb Wills and the AllEarsnet.com team.

Hi Fred. I had noticed you on the schedule.

We are staying at POP for the 4 nights after the cruise, so hope to participate in a couple of events. Going to be a lot of fun.

For those of us staying onsite after the cruise, you can now register for Mousefest on their website.

Hello Everyone!

We just got off the Magic this morning and we signed up for this cruise. Didn't know it was Mousefest at the time. Should be lots of fun!

It will be me (Robb), my partner Matthew, and our son Noah joining you all.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Robb

Welcome to the meet, Robb! Looking forward to meeting you, Matthew, and Noah.

First, can I just say "green with envy" about you just being on the Magic and now going on the Wonder in just 3 months! I like the way you guys vacation!!!

We can be a bit quiet on the thread (though in reality I think we're all pretty intense about wanting to be on the ship NOW!) but then there'll be spurts of information flying back and forth that could make your head spin! Okay, maybe not THAT fast!

You can go to the Mousefest website and register there as part of the cruise portion. I think there were 49 folks there last I looked, could be more!

We're newbies to Mousefest, but looking forward to seeing what it's all about!

Once again, welcome back and welcome to the thread!

Michael and Marc

Thank-you for the warm welcome Michael & Marc!

The thread does seem kinda quiet, which I guess is good so we will be able to read and catch up!

The Magic cruise was WONDERFUL!! We were a little nervous about the two weeks onboard with Noah, but he was great. We miss the ship already!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Robb

Welcome Robb, Matthew, and Noah, we can't wait to be back on the boat either. Time is going by faster than I expected. When we booked I though it would never get here, but only three months to go.

Wife has been trying to get me to go next weekend to WDW for our anniversary, she found really cheap airfare, but I am still trying to save up after the two trips we already have booked in the next 5 months.

Must have been a magical time bringing the boat back from the Met. Would love to hear more about it.

Tom,
Ann Marie says CHEAP airfare!!! What could be more "in your face" than that! Go for it, buddy!!! (yeah, I know, it's easy for me to spend others' money!!!)
Michael

(how'd I do, Ann Marie?)

Thanks Tom!

The cruise will be here before we know it. I was looking at our reservation yesterday, and our final payment is due is a few weeks!

As for the Med Repo, it was nice. We pretty much toured the ports on our own because we weren't sure how Noah would be, but everything worked out well.
While we were docked at Cadiz, we had taken a train to Seville which was outstanding. We loved Seville the best! The other ports were just ok for us.
We did however, love the six days at sea!

The shows onboard were good as well. We had seen them all before except the new one called "When Mickey Dreams." It was a good show, almost like a Cirque type. Not sure if it is a keeper though.
"The Art of the Story" was also performed. We had seen this one before, it is ok, but needs some work.

The seas were really calm, and the weather was great. A few drips of rain here and there, and a little wind, but it was fantastic.

Can't comment on the late night entertainment. With the boy with us, we didn't see any of that. We did get to Palo for dinner, which the food was great as usual.
The other food was ok. Towards the end of the cruise they were running out of items like lettuce, Mickey bars, and such.

Happy Anniversary to you both as well!

Robb

Welcome Robb, Matthew and Noah. Our cruise will be here sooner than I think. I too am jealous about your last trip. It sounds like everyone had so much fun. I just want to know how could Disney run out of Mickey bars? I think that would be a total emergency. How old is Noah?

Tonight is the night to book Palo for everyone that has cruised before. We are going to try to get brunch and dinner but we still have to decide what night for dinner.

Michael thanks for trying. When Tom says cheap airfare it was really cheap. It was $3 each way plus tax. Total for all four of us would have been $108. We have AP to Disney so all we would have spent is food and hotel. I told him that maybe we could win a night in the castle and that would take care of one night and some of the food. :rotfl2:

Ann Marie,
Was this on Spirit Air? I've been hearing about their incredibly low fares - someone else posted that they had, like, $.08 each way! It costs me more than that to back out of my driveway in my Scion xA!!! Granted those fares are VERY limited, but, gee, if one can grab them.... WOW!

Michael

It is hotter than the dickens out here in L.A. We're expecting 107 today and that's actually lower than the last couple of days. Unfortunately we're also getting some humidity so that's really making it sticky. The air conditioner has been working overtime this past week!

3 MONTHS, Gang!!!! 3 SHORT MONTHS!!!

Michael

Yes, it was on Spirit. I actually had it all ready to book and then I made the mistake of asking Tom instead of booking it and telling him it was for our anniversary. Gail from the last members cruise got that rate and is going Thursday to Monday. That was supposed to be mine. :rotfl2:

Hi, everyone! I should have looked for this thread much earlier than September! I normally hang out on the DVC threads.
My husband and I are going for our 3rd mousefest (or is it more? I forget) and 2nd Mousefest cruise. We loved it last year so we're signed up to repeat the cruise this year.

We did the parasailing last year (my husband's pic is up on the mousefest schedule for parasailing) and liked it. My husband loved it, and I made it through. I'm afraid of heights and did it anyway. We're doing it again this year, too! Yay!

I have to decide today what else we want to do since registration opens for us tonight at 1 am our time. I khow we want to do Palo's for dinner and brunch as well as a massage on Castaway Cay. Everything else is a "maybe" at the moment.

We're also staying on land 12/6-12/11 after the cruise at Boardwalk Villas, one of our homes. For that portion of the trip, we have my husband's family (parents, 3 siblings with spouses and kids) joining us. Really looking forward to that part of the trip, too!

I can't read the last 28 pages of this thread at the moment... anything I need to know about the cruise since I"m jumping in to this thread so late?

Thanks for the Welcome and from you as well Marilyn!

LOTS of people were upset about the Mickey Bars!! Since Disney was using a different wholesaler on the Med cruises, there were diferences in the taste of food, and the condiments were a little different too. The BBQ Sauce and the Honey Mustard at the Fixins Bar were pretty nasty!

Noah is going to be two very soon!

Robb

Welcome to the thread, Karen and Doug!

Marc and I are taking a few days after the crusie and staying at VWL. We've only owned our points there for a year or so and this will be the first time home! We are definitely looking forward to it.

You might want to check out the Secret Santa / Mickey posts just a few pages back (I think it's post 383) to see if you'd like to participate.

I'm hoping that the parasailing will be back for this cruise. It's not listed as an option yet. Jason mentioned that there were issues with the boats, I guess.

Good luck to those who are planning on doing your Palo brunch and dinner ressies tonight/tomorrow. We were able to do ours last week and there was quite a bit of availability but those can go quickly, can't they!

Have a great holiday tomorrow for those are able to revel in that. Back to work on Tuesday for us!

Stay cool, folks!
Michael

I booked our Palo dinner for Monday night at 6 pm and brunch for 11:00. Is anyone else going at these times? I am so tired. Off to bed. Will check in tomorrow.
