Dec 14th Dream re-routed

Yeah, better that they try and get us somewhere with better weather then hope for a miracle and be in rough water and rain for four days …

No future discount … nada … somewhat disappointed at their lackluster reaction…

On a side note, Port Everglades was a mess … the check in process was horrendous… everyone stuck waiting in the parking garage due to IT issues, castaway line longer and moving slower then the other line. Security personnel downright rude … indifference from the Disney leadership there … everyone was talking about how bad it was…

It would be no different than going to CC and have it rain all day. Why would they give a discount for weather? The FANTASY skipped their stop at CC too.

You're lucky, we've had 4 cruises that we're rerouted because of weather and we didn't get any discounts on any of them, I didn't expect to receive one. On one of our cruises we got to go to CC twice though because of weather, so that actually worked out in our favor. 3 of the 4 cruises were WC cruises. We missed GC twice and have missed Jamaica on all 3. We're planning on a WC in 2025 on the Treasure. If we miss Jamaica again, I'll give up on getting there on a cruise, lol! It's become somewhat of a joke in our family about always missing that port because we've done cruises to a lot of other places and have never missed any of those ports.

Wish is also having to skip CC due to weather. And even getting into Nassau is iffy.

ETA: They got into Nassau.

Rained all day when we were there. So light I'm not sure it even qualified as rain, but boy it sure did keep people on the ship. We were snorkeling all morning, so no impact on us. And planned on staying in our swim wear for our afternoon bike rental, so it was a lovely, uncrowded day with so many people not getting off the ship or going back early.

On this cruise now and omg Port Everglades was a MESS!!!! We had a 12p PAT and didn’t even start moving until around 12:45 🥴. On another note, the weather in Cozumel is beautiful lol

Is Disney offering a future discount? I know they sometimes do that if the itinerary is changed.
Yes, they do sometimes offer future discounts, but I think those are for exceptional circumstances; if you read your cruise contract, they don't even guarantee that you'll dock anywhere. We've been rerouted a couple of times - sometimes not for weather-related reasons but repair-related reasons - and I just assume that's the risk you run and accept it. Last time, we were diverted to Puerto Rico instead of Tortola, and I actually quite enjoyed the change.

I've been fortunate that I've never missed a port on any cruise so I didn't know where the line was drawn.

In 2022 we were on a 3 night Dream that was rerouted like 3 days in advance due to the Fantasy having to reroute so our Castaway day was swapped and we didn’t port in Nassau. We received like $200 per cabin onboard credit & like 20% off a future cruise. I definitely wasn’t complaining as we never disembark in Nassau 😂
