Oh, don't know if I can dance in front of my family members... brings back bad memories of when I was 9 at our church dance.
OK, I'm over it....
Have a question... How do you know if our cruise has a name? I see Molar express out on some of the threads... I don't recall seeing anything anywhere about a name.
OMiG I haven't been getting email updates and didn't know people were responding! I'm getting worried bc we have the late meal seating--do you all think my 3 yo will be okay???????? Plus, we're hoping to hook him up with some little friends, any takers?
I'm starting to panic! I don't know what to pack, I don't know what to pack my son to wear, what do we wear for meals, what am I doing?????????????????????????????????
Jennifer, mommy to Keegan (3) and non-cruiser Kenzie (1)-boohoo!
You could make sure you 3yo has eaten earlier and then bring a few toys or something to keep him occupied if he's still awake. Or, you can try to switch your meal time when you get to the ship. There may be another family who is looking for a later meal time. I'm sure it will all work out.
Meet up with the rest of us on deck 10 at 5pm for the sail away party... I'm sure your DS will meet some friends.
Thanks for replying Nicky! Now I know I'm an idiot, but what type of clothes should we pack as far as season, style, etc.? I'm sure it's on here somewhere but I'm feeling so overwhelmed I think I may cry.
Since we're from the north, New England, anything above 50 degrees is shorts weather for us. We'll be the group melting on the beach!!
During the day it should be nice enough for Shorts and t-shirts... might want to bring some warmer clothes for the evenings or even a light Jacket. I've read somewhere that for the little one, you might want to bring footed PJ's, as it can get cool at night. DCL has a temp listing for this time of year...OK well I cannot find where I saw the average temps.
Coming from New England, where the moto is 'Just wait 10 minutes, the weather will change!' A girl has got to have options! I'm an over packer anyway, I would rather be safe then sorry.
And you can always do laundry onboard if you need to... not that you want to spend time on vacation doing that task.
Jennifer,
Glad you're still around! I was getting worried that we hadn't heard from you in a while! We're all on early seating but I've heard parents say they like late seating because they can feed the kids early and then see the shows before the grown up dinner.
I am also a notorious overpacker (must be genetic!) and am trying to contain myself. We're staying a few days after the cruise so I think we'll be doing laundry at some point! My DD is easier she can stay reasonably clean for almost a day! But my DS (4) gets dirty before he even finishes dressing! I'm hoping for bathing suit weather and we are only bringing 2 pairs of "docker" type pants that he will only wear at dinner and swap out shirts.
The avg temp is low 70s for FL and mid 70s for the Bahamas. I'm with Nick - if it's above 50 my kids will be in the water and we live farther south than she does!
We look forward to meeting you and your family - and stop panicking! As long as you remember a bathing suit and t-shirt or two you'll be fine! Hmmm maybe a pair of shorts too! I'm going to have a margarita waiting for Nick - do I need to have one waiting for you too!
yay Michelle, glad you're still here and I hope we can get the boys together. Keegan is so worried that he won't have any friends to play with! I appreciate the packing advice; I started today and am working on my dd, since she's not going and is easier! You'll recognize me as the one sobbing about my absentee dd AND having to fit into a bathing suit--a margarita would be great!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got this board permanently on my computer so I won't miss any more messages!
