Well on behalf of the rest of us AMericans I say Welcome. I have always wanted to come to the UK but haven't been able to get myself to take such a long flight. ANyway. You will ablsolutely love Disney. We have been to Disney too numerous times to count but we have only been on one Disney cruise. THey sure know how to do it right. We are in Cat 3 suite and then we have seven more Cat 7 rooms. We went on the 1st cruise last Nov to see if it was something we would like to give our kids and their families for Christmas and of course it was, so that is why we have 19 in all going. I can't wait. I think planning is half the fun of the trip. DO us a favor and leave the cold rainy weather iin England when you come here....lol:laughing:
Make sure if you see a group of 19 people you come over and say hello. We are a fun bunch and always feel the more the merrier.:dance3:

We are going to be on our first Disney cruise the same time as you guys. we have been to disney lots but our first cruise. Welcome from England, you will love the U.S. I grew up in Ireland and was just back for Chritmas last year, first time I had been back in 18 years. My family loved it and are already planning our next trip in 2 years.
Traveling with a group of 19 would be a blast, we went to Disney 2 years ago with my sister in law and all the kids, there was 9 of us and that was fun so i can only imagine with 19, i say the more the merrier, you won't be hard to miss. what to you all have for dining? main or late. we have main but am thinking of changing to late just so we don't feel rushed on the port days, what are you thoughts?:dance3:

We have main seating because we have a few kids along that will want to eat early so they can get back to the kids club.
We really enjoyed our first cruise (just me my DH and DGD) so we knew we wanted to eat at the same time we ate on the first one. It worked well for us. We never felt rushed for dinner. But since your are used to a different time zone you need to adjust your schedule to what is comfortable for you. Just a tip though, you might want to hang on to your early dining until you get there and then switch because if you change your mind and want to get back to early seating it won't be possible because main dining is very sought after.

I doubt if we will all hang around together on the ship but we will be together during dining so if you are in our dining rotation and you see us please come over and say high.

Thanks, I thought i would hang onto my early dining and then change on the ship if i wanted as I have heard it is easier to switch to late but impossible to get main. Ok i am new to these boards and don't want to sound stupid but when people sign that they went with DD and so on I was wondering what those abbrevatios stand for, I know it will be something really simple and after you tell me I will feel really dumb:laughing: but I don't know what they all stand for. Was also wondering how the ships are for motion, we are in rooms 6106 and 6107, i have a veranda room and my Mom has an inside room as it is just her in the room but I am a little nervous about motion sickness which I know is probably silly as i can go on just about any ride with no problem although I do hate those spinning teacups. also my boys will be 12 and 15 so they will be in different clubs, are the counselors good about getting kids that are alone invoved untill they make friends?
thanks for all your help, its nice to talk to someone who has done this before.

The closer to the middle of the ship you are the less motion you have. I looked at a ship diagram and your room is located on toward the front of the ship. THe only time that would be rough is if we hit really rough seas but the time of the year that we are gong is usually not rough at all. It is actually quite nice. There is a website that you can go to (I don't know where it is but you might ask about it on the Dis and see if someone can refer you to it) that will tell you about your specific room from someone who already stayed in it.
As far as the abbreviations go - DD stand for Darling Daughter or DGD darling Granddaughter. DH darling husband, DW darling whife, DMIL Darling mother in law...etc...... Some people say the first D stands for Disney. Either way that is what they mean.
The only rocky times you have on the ship is the first day because you are crossing the gulf stream, but it is not bad. Just abrely noticeable. Some people use patches for seas sickness but they make you sleepy and I don't want to miss a minute of fun because it goes by tooo fast. Some people say ginger helps. Talk to your doctor and see what they say would be best for you. Make sure you try it out a few times before you go on the cruise though if you choose to use something. You would hate to find out on the ship that you are allergic to it.

The counsellors on the ship are wonderful. Thye know exactly how to make a kid feel welcome and have a great time. Don't be surprised if your children don't want to leave the club. IT mak be hard to get them to spend time with you. HAhahaha.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. I will be happy to share any info with you I may have.

wdwinfo.com click on Disney cruisline on the tiop then staterooms and you will see room reports click on that

Thanks alot for the website, my room should be great:banana: I can't wait to go but it seems sooo far off.

Sure doesn't seem to be alot of people on the December 11th cruise, maybe they havn't found the disboards yet, boy are they missing out. Anybody else out there going on this cruise. I have heard that the Disney cruises usually always sail full, is this true?:dance3:

I don't know if they are always full. I have only been once on Disney. I guarantee there are going to be more people than just us on the ship....lol
