Deb's (solar) - Babysteps to Big Changes

Thank you for the encouragement.

I felt amazing yesterday. I had to keep telling myself I did it...i really went that far. I'm so tickled by my progress - and it's really helping me inside of my head as well. The confidence attached to it is really nice.

My body is adapting nicely - and I'm going to focus on staying steady, and hopefully losing some more weight again. One day at a time, one step at a time, one meal at a time....it truly is the best way for me to find my sweet spot.

You are doing an amazing job, Deb. :thumbsup2 I love how you are taking this journey one step and one day at a time. ::yes:: Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Deb, that is amazing you ran 8 miles!:thumbsup2:cool1: That must just make you feel like there is nothing you can't do. Because there isn't!

Your weight loss is going to accelrate big time I am betting.

Keep up the good work!!

8 miles way to go!!! Congrats, You are doing great!! Yes take it one step at a time. Almost time for disney!!!! I'll be rooting for you the whole time!!!
You Go Girl!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you everyone for stopping by. Last night I put in 3 miles and I have a 10 mile scheduled this week. It's my last BIG run before my race -- I then taper and cut back mileage a bit.

I have another 1/2 marathon scheduled in April so that I don't finish the race in March and just STOP completely...I knew i had it in me to just STOP! :rotfl2: I planned ahead...

Anyway, doing okay - but honestly this weekend had more than my fair share of calories. It is what it is...I got lazy, and I'm back on track this morning. Leaving for vaca in 2 weeks, so trying to keep on track for these next 2 weeks especially...I feel better when I don't stray - I'm slowly trying to add more regular food back in, but I have to be careful...I wrote down some safe choices, and have decided my next add in food is yogurt w/a cup of cereal. I'm adding it this week to replace one shake.

I'm doing it slow and gradual so I don't get overwhelmed. I was at 5 shakes/1 meal, but would like to be at 3 shakes/3 meals by summer...so now i'll be up to 2. I might also exchange the yogurt/cereal combination with something like an egg white omelet or veg. beef soup...just a nice low calorie option that combines protein with safe carbs...avoiding starchy carbs.

Catching up on journals today - and thank you for taking time to stop by and read this.

Hi Deb! Just getting caught up on your journal. Your post from 2/3 is especially wonderful. Congratulations! Wow is all I can say- that's amazing that you were able to stop your meds for diabetes.

Also, way to go on your long run!

Great job on the 3 mile run yesterday!:thumbsup2 Sending some :wizard::wizard: for your 10 mile run later on this week.

That's cool that you signed up for another 1/2!:cheer2: When is the one in March?

Hope you have a great Monday!

Deb, you are going to run a 1.2 marothon in 2.5 weeks. That is just AMAZING!!!!!!!! :cheer2::banana::worship:

Let us know how the 10 miles go!!!!:yay::yay:

Ten miles coming up? Whew! It makes me tired just to think about it.

It happens sometimes...the getting lazy...just don't give it the power to get in the way of all the good progress you've made. The important thing is just getting back on track. :thumbsup2

Deb, it must be something in the air, I've been a bit lazy myself lately! You can do your ten miles and I think its genius to schedule another race to keep your momentum going.

Keep up the good work and congrats on getting right back on track!:thumbsup2

Good plan with the shakes and signing up for another race!

Re: the shakes...What kind of shakes do you drink?

Answering:

March race is the Princess 1/2 in Disney - think it's March 7 or 8

Shakes: I go to a doctor for them, they are not store bought...I'm working with an internist and go weekly

Dr. appt - I traded fat for muscle this week...I'll take it - my weight is staying steady - but my body gets healthier and stronger and a little smaller each week

my tailbone flared up on me a little bit. I think it's because i tried to increase my speed on my 3 miles Sunday - last time I tried to pick up speed, it pinched back there. I just have to stay slow and steady...think it causes more hip gyration or heavier impact striking, so slow and steady it stays...no speed work for a few more weeks...it is what it is.

10 miles will probably be Wed/Thurs/or Fri - based on schedule. Lunch out Wed with friends, lunch out THurs with sister and mom, Friday late afternoon plans...so I'll squeeze it in there before or after a lunch...just think i want my tailbone to rest one more day. No pain today, but still general soreness..if i've learned anything, that one extra day of rest is SO worth it

Snowed again today for awhile - thankfully it didn't stick...so tired of this stuff...I'm craving Florida sunshine...just a little bit longer, I'll be there

Deb, good job listening to your body and taking it a bit slow for the next few days! I know you'll get your speed back up soon but that back for sure has to heal!

All this snow must have you more excited for WDW than ever!

I am betting you'll have a big loss on the scale soon and that is so great your body is shrinking. That makes it all worth it!

I hear ya, Deb! :goodvibes I am so craving Florida sunshine right now. Unfortunately, my trip isn't until September. Hopefully, we'll see some Ohio sunshine by then. ;) LOL!

Great job listening to your body and taking it easy!:thumbsup2

Sending some :wizard: for your 10 mile run. You CAN do it!!!!:cheer2:

Have a great Wednesday!

Hi Deb, I am sick of the snow too.
Can't wait to get the kids outside to play, I tried 2 times now to run walk outside.

Slow and Steady Win the Race!!!, your doing great.

What a great journal! :thumbsup2 It's just what I needed to read today. I'm needing to get tough with myself and lose a fair share of weight by July to avoid a costly (to me anyway) medical procedure. Your story is just what I needed to start getting my brain in the game.
Thank you for sharing your journey!

Muscle = very good thing! :thumbsup2

Keep your eyes on the prize with FL and hopefully it will be good weather when you arrive. Been chilly all week again, but hey, no snow, so no complaints here with so many people getting hammered.

Daisy - I'm glad it's helpful to you....good luck on your journey.

Girls, thank you so much for the encouragement. Well....

I DID IT!!! 10 miles!!!

At mile 7 - I wanted to stop...but by mile 8 I knew I was going to do the full 10. It took me a LONG time, but I kept going... :rotfl:

Legs feel great this morning :thumbsup2

Tummy shaky - just need to keep hydrating...when I drink, I feel better..so I know it's what my body needs...

It was quite the mental hurdle to jump. Your brain says...oh come on, 7 miles is plenty - just stop...but you have to fight back and say...no - your goal was 10 today....and 10 it was :woohoo:

Still not sure how I did it...very proud of myself, but also amazed I pulled it off. :cheer2: -- all 200+ pounds of me.
