Can we use a debit/credit card in the parks for all purchases? I know that they are accepted in the stores, but what about counter service restaurants and smaller snack stands? :confused3

I can't say for certain about the snack stands, but at the restaurants they'll accept charge/debit cards. (We just didn't get snacks when we were there.)

I don't know if they are accepted everywhere but they were accepted everywhere we went (including fruit stands/carts).

And I think it's just as easy or easier to use cards as cash, both for staff & visitors.

Most carts accept credit cards, like the popcorn and pretzel carts. The only ones that don't accept plastic would be the ones walking around with the light carts along the parade routes.

Pretty much the reason for this, is most the snacks are part of the dining plan, which processes like credit cards. Although a time or two I've come across them when the machine wasn't working, and they could only take cash.

I'd keep a couple $20s (or smaller bills) on hand at the parks, but you probably won't need them at all.

You may want to alert your bank that you are traveling. My friend went to Epcot once and was "Drinking" around the world using her debit card. The bank cut it off when they saw all the charges in Japan, Germany, England, etc. She had to call and tell them she was in Disney.

The charges actually come up as if in different countries? They don't process as Orlando, FL? Interesting. Guess we will have to be careful if we buy things in different countries.

I'm fairly sure all the charges go through as Disney World, but drinking around the world is a lot of charges in a short amount of time. Often times, a stolen card is used repeatedly in short bursts for a few dollars at a time.

Sorry but your friend was either joking or flat-out lying. All my WDW charges, including restaurants and lounges, indicate (depending on the card) either Florida, or Lake Buena Vista, FL.
