Debit Cards

It is my understanding that when you check in your room keys are linked to a credit card for all charges i.e. food, beverages, shopping etc. throughout your stay at WDW and that you can swipe them for these purchases. I have a debit Mastercard. Can this be used for this purpose???

Yes, as long as it has the mastercard logo on it you can use it.

We use our visa/debit card all the time at disney.

I've used my debit MasterCard often at WDW with no problems.

I would check with your bank about your daily limits. Most debit cards (even those with a MC or Visa logo) do have daily limits.

Also make sure you know your PIN number. A debit mastercard must be used with a PIN at WalMart - no longer can use your signature. A debit Visa should be unchanged - either PIN or signature. However, it is possible you may run into it elsewhere too.

We use ours all the time as well. We have a $500 limit per day per card. This means that we can do $500 a day on my card and $500 a day on DH card since they have 2 different numbers on them. We go down the night before check out and charge my card $500 and then we allow them to charge my DH's card for express checkout-assuming we go over $500 in room charges. Other than that we have ever had an issue using our visa check card.

If the limit is low, you can have your bank raise it.
