Debit Cards? How do you pay in the parks?

I haven't been to Disney in quite a few years, but am leaving in 8 days to go again! When I went was back in the days of travelers checks or cash, no other options. How do you all pay for things now in the parks? Do they take debit cards everywhere? I hate to use my debit card for little purchases (like under $10), but it probalby beats carrying cash. So, I'd like to know if you can use a debit at regular sit downs, gift shops, and counter service places. What do you use cash for? Any info/tips would be appreciated!

I haven't been in a long while either and am curious to know the answer as we are always using our debit cards! I believe I did read somewhere though that you have to pay cash for parking. Not sure if that is an issue for you if you are staying on site but we are offsite and it was an important piece to know! Hope you have a great trip!

You should be able to use the debit cards anywhere they take credit cards. The only places where they sometimes do not take credit cards are at the carts you see selling stuff throughout the park (but sometimes they DO take credit cards). There, you have to have cash.

I'm not sure about parking, as I always stay on site, so don't pay for parking.

Oh, good point! We are off site. Anyone know this answer? How much is parking?

I think parking is up to $9 a day, but we're usually there as AP holders and/or on-site guests so I haven't paid it in a while.

On the debit/credit card question, 99% of the place takes credit cards. The last place I remember not being able to use my credit card was at the coney place on the Boardwalk across from Spoodles's main door.
