Debit Cards/Hotel Card

Does anyone know if you can use your debit card instead of a credit card for you hotel room card? My MIL just went on a cruise and she said she had to use a CC not a DBC. I was hoping to use my debit card when we were in Disney next month. If any one knows and could let me know that would be great.

We always use our Debit card, for disney and for cruising. We check our account daily to see what charges have been made and have never had any problem at all.
Make sure and call your bank to see what your daily limit is since sometimes all the 'charges' you have made will be taken out of your account on the last day, if you go over the daily limit then it will not be approved. If your daily limit is not what you think you will need then have the bank raise it for your trip.

we used our debit card....we used the charging option on our room card and when we checked out it was applied to our debit card. Worked out great.

How does the room charing option work with a debit card? Can you just authorize a set amount to be "credited" to your room card when you check in?
