Debating on buying-? with credit with purchase

Hello everyone,
FIrst, I'd like to say that I have read for awhile now on all these boards and you guys are great! I am seriously considering buying into DVC but had a question I am unsure of. In September, my mother and I are going to do a disney trip. We will also take a tour of DVC, I have done it before, and probably will buy in. My question is if you do buy during a trip can you use points to credit your trip. I thought I had heard about something like this before, but I am not sure. For example if we buy during our trip in Spetember could we use some of our points bought to get money back on the nights we paid cash. I am asking this because we are debating between BW or CR and would assume if something like this were available you would have to stay at a villa resort. THanks for help!

ZekeKelso is right BUT you COULD get the $500 Disney Gift Card incentive for buying 160 points of SSR (if inventory of SSR is still available) with referral.

You can use that card at your hotel front desk before checkout to apply to your balance against your stay. (That's what I did on my last trip, when I added on to SSR.)

We will also take a tour of DVC, I have done it before, and probably will buy in.

In 2006, we went to Disney and purchased. We knew we were going to buy in, and had I known then what I know now, I would have purchased prior to my vacation and put the $1800 I paid on the room toward my DVC purchase.

If you consider purchasing before you travel, tell your guide you want a reservation for September and that's part of the reason you're purchasing now. Otherwise, you're in no hurry and may stop in when you're down in Orlando.

Several years ago when DVC was hungry for members we also heard about this practice. When we went on our tour a couple of years later our Guide denied that this was possible and acted like we were nuts. He didn't offer any suggestions and we felt a bit put off so we bought our first points resale.
