Debating between two dates - week after Easter or August???

Would love some opinions...Due to my work schedule (I work in a school) and my DS starting K this fall, we have two options for our disney trip. We could go in March for that week that Easter falls or anytime in July or August (would prefer August). What would you do? I am fully aware that both are less than desirable. March will have nicer weather but will have more crowds and there won't likely be any deals for free dining or cheaper rooms but the heat and hurricane potential in August is a big negative. I am leaning towards August because we have done it before and I know what we are in for, but was wondering what you guys thought. Thanks for any opinions!

We went for my DS's 18th birthday (March Spring Break) dates. It was packed and lines were huge. There were no discounts, and flights were super expensive, but it was his 18th so we went on the actual date of his birthday. I was willing to pay just so he would have a great time. I booked a special cake and special ADR's, but when we got there the service was the worst we have ever had at Disney and 2 of our ADR's were completely lost in their system. Luckily I am OCD about these things and had print outs of all my ADR's. I hated the long lines, and service was so bad that I almost considered not going back. As it was, I couldn't bring myself to buy any gifts or souvenirs to take home (which is so not me). I got over it, but I really would not recommend Spring Break time at WDW.pixiedust:

Teacher schedules also. June and/or July are best. We have gone 3 times in August, and have dealt with a LOT of rain each time - the all day kind.

It rains in June & July - but only for about an hour.

Spring Break is a nightmare with more people than can be imagined.

Definitely stay with June or July. You won't regret it. (Stay away from the All Stars in July. They have huge groups of poorly supervised children from other countries.)

I'm in the same boat and we alternate between spring break or summer. I prefer August because you can usually get an awesome deal on a deluxe or free dining and the crowds are much better. If you can stand the heat, it's nice. Once we went in July and had horrible crowds, so if you do go in the summer go at the end of August if you can!

But sometimes it's worth it to get away for spring break and brave the crowds to get the beautiful weather. If you can be a rope drop/fast pass kind of person, you can still see everything. Flights are harder to get and more expensive. You won't have any kind of discount from Disney, but if you plan ahead and rent points you can get some great savings.

Another vote for August! We have gone 4 times in August twice during free dining, and twice the week before free dining starts, the week before free dining was by far the better option. Crowd levels were a lot lower, and they usually have room discounts. I think Easter break is one of the busiest and most expensive times.
We just stayed at the Dolphin and loved it! they offer great teacher discounts so its something you might want to consider. Good luck with your decision and have a wonderful trip.
