Debate: Down the front or in the back...

OK, here's one of those topics that I know can get the blood heated so please use the back button now if you're not ready for this to get dirty. The topic is:

Should the toilet paper roll be hung so that the paper falls over the front or in the back.

I'll admit - I like it in the front but I can see some of the reasons people would choose the back. Here are the reasons for my choice:

1) Convenience - it's right there ready when you need it.
2) In the dark, there's so much less fumbling to find it.
3) One you get it going, it almost does all the work for you.
4) I'm a bit conventional - this is how most people do it so you don't have to adjust your expectations when in new settings.
5) This is how my parents did it. If it was good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

Definitely front, and this is one of those things where DH and I disagree. It's really a moot point in my house since he's too lazy to change the roll anyway, so I always get my way! :teeth:

The back. I have come home to many times to find that the cat has unrolled the toilet paper all over the floor. DH did not believe me until it happened to him, and it was the last roll in the house.

I always had to have it in the front, until my DS's were old enough to start playing with it. Then changed it to the back, so when they rolled it, it didn't unroll all the paper. Now that they are over that, I have lightened up and don't even notice how I put it on. It's nice to know that I can lighten up on something..:p

HOWEVER...and this is the truth....I am the ONLY ONE IN THIS ENTIRE HOUSE THAT REPLACES THE TP ROLL.....no, I don't have issues, but it sure is annoying!

There is only one correct way and it is over the top/down the front.... no other way is acceptable in my house ;)

Just slide the roll down the plunger handle and set the whole thing next to the toilet.

Can you tell I'm a bachelor?

:jester:

Top/Down BUT we have no toilet paper holders in our house so it goes on the back of the toilet. Why, you ask? When we moved into our house I didn't want the generic toilet paper holders & towel racks that the builder put in and fully intended to buy the ones I wanted. Somehow, that has never happened. I also didn't want their mirrors put in because I wanted framed mirrors instead. Well, I bought one framed mirror and it is sitting in the garage. Good thing I went ahead and had them put the mirrors in.

HOWEVER, if I did have toilet paper holders...I would definitely go top facing down. If you don't do that...well, you're just a sicko.

who says ya gotta hang it in the first place?

but either way is fine with me, I ain't that picky 'bout such things, just nice to have the luxury of TP regardless of how it's hung (or not hung, as the case may be)

I'm old enough to remember the old outhouses...

the one-seaters and two-seaters were both "equipped" with Sears catalogues....

so...I'll bow out of this debate...

I'm happy either way....

and yes...I change the roll...

and in the olden days...I took last months catalogue with me...

Front, but I can't put it on the roll here, DD uses the ENTIRE roll if it is on the wall, she will jsut pull and pull and pull, so we don't put it on the roll. It lasts ALOT longer if it is NOT on the roll. ::yes::

What a calm and civilized debate! Where am I...?

Over the top all the way!

I would settle for on the roller. DH and DS seem to have a mental block against this.

I don't care... just as long as the last person that empties the roll puts a new one back on! Sheesh... it's almost as hard as filling the ice tray. I finally bought a fridge with an ice maker. Do they make automatic toilet paper machines?
