Debate Board Question

First of all, I've only been posting on this board for a very short time. It seems that a lot of debate topics end up on this board and I wasn't quite sure about the history or reasons why the debate board was closed. Can anyone fill me in?

I am not certain but I believe there were repeated issues with people not following the guidelines. They chose to close it after many warnings.
