I am wondering what time you actually are able to leave the ship. We will be heading for WDW on that day and I am wondering how early we will be able to hit the parks. Thanks for any info you can offer.

They "officially" start at 8 am, but I gather from the boards that sometimes they may start a bit earlier.
Our experience was different on the 12-27 Eastern(ended on 1-3-04), they had people lined up before 8, but it was 8:45 before anyone was allowed off. We made it off by 9:15, on the bus by 9:40 at the airport by 10:30, so I'd say yes, you have plenty of time to hit the parks.
I'm in Northern California, and frequently visit Disneyland in Southern California, a 1 hour flight. We often fly out at noon, and are in the park by 4 to 4:30 pm.

WERE WERE OFF THE SHIP AND AT THE TERMINAL PARKING LOT BY 745AM. IT WAS A BREEZE!

they drug us off kicking, screaming, and leaving claw marks behind at 8:58.
My question is this: they say that you have to be off of the boat by 9:00. What happens if you're not? Do they make you stay????:jester: :boat:

If you are driving yourselves and want to be there for rope drop, you can probably make it. Don't have a sit down breakfast, get off the boat as fast as you are ready.

I think they were letting people off at 7:30 for our cruise. They asked you to be off "by 8" if you had a flight that left before noon. Although sometimes there are delays (weather, clearing the boat at port). We had a "personal" delay in that one of our suitcases went missing and looking for it and filing a lost luggage report took another half an hour.
