Deb has been wanting a Wii, or more precisely, a Wii Fit for some time now. We finally got them last night. Looks like the Kindle took the back seat for now. :)

We only have Wii Sports and Wii Play right now. Will be getting Toy Story Mania when it comes out next month.

Please PM me if you would like to exchange codes so our Mii's can mingle. :dance3:

We open up the Wii Fat tonight. :rotfl2:

I'll get my friend code tonight and send it, George! Ian and i play baseball and bowling all the time. He is also loving Wii golf.

We got a Wii about 5 weeks ago and bought the Wii Fit and the Wii Active for it to workout with. Well in only 5 weeks, i have lost 16 lbs, and my wife has lost 20 lbs. I usually only do the Fit every now and again, but do the weigh in daily on it. I do the fit as it says, 2 days on then 1 off, but sometimes i will work on my day off. It was hard to me at first, but now it is easy. Money well spent!!

Thanks Mike. We did bowling and baseball until 1AM this morning. Deb was cursing a bit this morning. No sleep. :rotfl2: Gonna check out golf tonight. :)

I imagine any DISer with a Wii will have TSM next month and there will be no FB activity. :lmao:

I was one of the first to have a WiiFit in Canada!
I am not sure what the friend codes are either. :confused3
However it does sound cool! :cool1:

Do you have a Wii Lyn?

I want to have a Wii.

I want to know if I should get a Fit OR an Active to go with it. I only want to spend money on one, if they are more of less the same thing.

I am sure I will want the Toy Story Game! Do I also want Animal Crossing?

I have never had any sort of computer game since we played Space Invaders and Pong on our TV. I think it was with an Atari.

Opinions, please - if the hijack is okay. I was about to start a new thread.

My mother's estate will take a while to settle. But soon I will get a small bit (less than $400) from a life insurance policy my grandmother had bought for my mother when she was a child. And I want to use the money for a Wii!

I love the Wii. Unfortunately, I never have time to use it. I'm hoping once the kids are back in school....

I have Wii Fit. It's....ok. I like it, but having to stop between each activity is annoying. I used the running part alot last winter when it was sub-zero here - running around the island and on the beach, I imagined I was back at my in-laws in Fort Myers.

If anyone has any info on the Active, I would like to hear about it too!

Explain friend codes, please.

I've got a Wii, but I have no idea what friend codes are either. :confused3

I have very little knowledge right now about friends and codes on the Wii. I know each Wii has a 16 digit code that you can share with other Wii owners so you can communicate with each other. You can find the 16 digit code for your console in the Wii Message Board area of Create Message/Address Book. Both friends MUST be online via the wireless capability of the Wii. I'm still unsure as to online game play with friends. Past this you'll need to do your own searches on the subject.

There are a few game related Wii topics on the DIS, especially Animal Crossing. You'll have to search them out.

I prefer the Wii active to the Wii fit.

I purchased the active about 3 weeks ago and love it. It is a great workout. You can choose to set up your own routine or do the 30 day challenge.

We have had the Wii fit for about a year and I barely use it anymore.

The good thing about having both is that you can use the Wii board with the Wii active if you choose.

Welcome to the Wii community George and Deb.
My Favourite game so far is Tiger Woods Golf, whether its the 2008 or 2009 version (I have both)
FAR surpasses the golf sent with the Wii!!!
Unfortunately we do not have it hooked up to the internet, so no friend codes, but maybe someday.

Hi John. Had Tiger on the 360 and really enjoyed it. 360 was really too much for us and it ended up going to my nephew. The most important thing for Deb was Wii Fit. I've read a few things on the DIS about other Wii fitness games not cutting it. I've read they are coming out with a Wii Fit Plus and a Plus upgrade for those with the rgular Fit.

I also got the Wii Play which has a 2nd wiimote along with a game bundle. Seemed a better value than just buying the plain 2nd remote. It was only $10 extra for all the extra games.

George - we have Wii Fit and we can send you friend codes. Maybe it will mean that i get my butt in gear and use it. Do you have Wii Speak, too?
That really is the best piece.

There are a bunch of us that played Animal Crossing together and we all have our codes out there. PM me and I'll send you ours

I'm debating on WiiActive. I have WiiFit and really like it, but I think I need a new distraction. I've looked at some of the dancing ones but think I'll rent before buying just to see if I really will use it. We also have Wiiplay and it was essential for learning how to use the Wii for us. This is our first exposure to any kind of videogame/interactive game. We aren't online and I'm not ready to attempt that yet just yet!

I also can't wait to get Toy Story! Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Mario Kart are favourites at our house.

Hi Nancy and thanks. :goodvibes I'll PM you my code. Deb and I started WiiFit last night. I think laughing at each other was just as much fun as the actual use. I've heard of WiiSpeak but don't have it yet.

I've seen all the AC topics and it seems old hat right now. Hopefully WiiSpeak will work with TSM because I'm sure that will be big around here.

George, I would send you my code, but I have no idea how to do it. :happytv:

I have a Wii Fit, but I haven't used it much. We don't use our Wii much either. But I will be buying TSM.

Senor Jorge, I haven't been on Wii Don't Fit much since the cruise but have been thinking I need to get back on it - I'll figure out our code and PM you...maybe it will motivate to catch up to Deb! :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

Senor Jorge wants to come visit your console. :lmao:

Hi Anne. I'll try to explain without getting you lost. ;)

From the main Wii screen, select the little envelope icon on the bottom right. This is the Wii Message Board.

- Select the Create Message icon to the left of the date.
- Select the Address Book icon on the right.

You should see your console number. It is 16 digits.

PM me that and your Mii name.

You also register friends in this area as well.

- Select Register from the Address Book
- Select the Wii icon on the left
- Enter your friends console number and nickname

Hopefully I didn't mess that up. :)

Hi Karen. See above. I'll PM you my code as well. :goodvibes
