We are at Disney World. Come and please bring your presents.

I found this letter to Santa along with their Christmas list.
My 2 ds's are very worried about their gifts this year since we will be at SSR on Christmas Day. We have never been away during the Holidays.

How do those that celebrate Christmas at Their WDW Homes, handle the gift giving for younger children. They understand that WDW is their main gift but they were also able to request some smaller items for doing well throughout the year. We dont go thru any grand illusion of Santa but I let them believe what they want to believe. We normally place gifts under the tree throughout the season and not just on Christmas Eve.

My Ds's are 5 and 7. Also, do you wrap gifts and place them under the tree. A little concerned about the security of the items also. Any past experiences?

My family has also been out of town on the holidays. This happened when my children were older than yours are, but it might work for you and your family. We celebrated Christmas before we left. Since I don't know your trip dates, I don't know when that could happen, but you could celebrate it afterwards, as well.

Another suggestion would be to give them the presents you are afraid about security wise before the trip and just bring along the ones you know to be safe.

We will be at SSR from the 19th through the 24th. Then we are flying to DH Mom's from the 24th through the 28th. DD (age 7) has insisted that we do a little decorating. So, yesterday we put up 1 of our Disney Trees, nativity scene, stockings and plate for Santa's cookies.

I am mailing stocking stuffer's to DH Mom's house. They will be wrapped and ready to go. There is a stocking at Grandma's already. We are leaving DD's stocking here and she has written a note to Santa saying that she is at Grandma's house. Santa has a card for GRandma's house saying DD big presents will be waiting for her at home. My Mom is going to set up everything here. She will take a bite or two of the cookies that we leave, set up presents by the tree, etc. So, DD will have some small things from Santa while we are away and have a couple BIG presents at home to open when we return. Hope this gives others some ideas.

Anyone else have any ideas? We plan on doing a Christmas trip next year. My kids know the truth, but we still do the "Santa" thing. I plan on only small gifts, but bringing them with us as we will be driving. We plan to set up a small tree. I had not even considered the security thing. I really do not want to have to do things early or wait until we get back, I still want the Christmas Morning experience. Anyone else????

. . . Also, do you wrap gifts and place them under the tree . . .

1) We do wrap presents from each other and put under tree.
2) Santa puts his presents under tree on Christmas Eve.
3) of course, Santa DOES NOT wrap HIS presents.

NOTE: Only did Christmas once at DVC, but security was not a problem.

I've never actually done Christmas eve/Christmas day but...how about some small gifts from Santa at the resort with maybe a note from Santa saying something to the effect of "I have the bigger gifts or the rest of the gifts waiting for you at your house - I dropped them off there knowing you wouldn't be able to fit them in the car/on the plane".

Just a suggestion.;)

Thanks this will be really helpful!

We want the Christmas morning experience too! We will be driving also so we will be able to take the gifts with us. We will have one of the Dis trees and decorate the room and balcony.
I may have to mail a letter to our Resort addressed to the boys explaining Santa knows where they are and that they have been so great this year that they get to stay an extra week at WDW! Can you mail a letter to the Resort for a guest? LOL

Thanks for the security reassurance, Im tainted, ever since I saw the Grinch that stole Christmas! LOL
