Golly, I love that song!!! It makes me smile whenever I hear it. It's by a band called Sugarland, and if i had to pick a voice to sing with, I'd pick the lead singer's voice. It's awesome!!

I'm listening to that right now!! I loveee Sugarland! I like the whole CD Twice The Speed Of Life. Every song is just GREAT! They were here a few days ago performing, but I couldn't go.

My favorite song they do is Fly Away.

Did you read the song lyrics? How can you interpret that as praying? Mrsv said it was her mom reminding her to pray, but the song is a letter home FROM her, so we don't hear mom's side.

I have read other boards on their fan site and the concensus there is that it is about praying, not anything nasty. Think about it, the lyrics don't even fit with the rest of the song with that interpretation.

I really don't want to argue. But i will defend my interpretation one last time, and then, you can interpret it anyway you want, and I will also.

The way it fits in the song is this, she is saying how some girls who go out to "make it" get taken advantage of in a BIG way. Hence, the promises of fancy cars and diamond rings. Everbody's your friend, you can't be sure. What does praying have to do with that? If you are thinking it is praying, of course it doesn't make sense. She is talking about being taken advantage of. Lied to.

She is telling her mom and dad what it is like out there, send money, so I don't have to use my knees.

This is my story, and I'm sticking to it. You go ahead and stick by yours.
