Dear designers:

I'd like to see summer-weight dresses WITH SLEEVES. We don't all have Michelle Obama's lovely arms!

Hitting at least almost to the knee (and I'm petite, so that's not a whole lot of length anyway!) would be an added bonus.

Amen. I'd like to add just sleeves in general on dresses. Even evening wear needs to have at least one choice with sleeves (that isn't suitable for my grandma.)

Dear designers-

As someone who is 4'10" I must shop in Petites. I am also short waisted, so I cannot even buy shirts from the regular section as they far way too low. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing so many cute styles throughout the store and then finding nothing in the petite section. Not every short person is a grandma. And please don't tell me to go shop in the children's section- I'm pretty sure I'm too fat, and little girls don't have breasts or hips. I also don't understand how a pair of pants in the petite section should need 4-6 inches hemmed off?

Ok, this isn't a "designer" issue but a you issue. At 4'10" you are going to have to hem pants-sorry.

Dear Designers,

My 9yo daughter does not need "low rise" or even better, "lowest rise" jeans.

Thank you.

I don't want low rise pants either and no one over 21 should be wearing them either. I don't want to see your thong hanging out the back of your pants. What REALLY gets me is when I am buying a SUIT for work and all the pants are low rise. I don't care how old you are, low rise pants are NOT professional.

My beef is the clothing in the stores is so UGLY right now. The loud print, baby doll tops were NOT attractive in the 70's and they still are not today.

If you have to put a drawstring neck on a sweatshirt, do not make the drawstrings out of elastic and put a toggle on the end. Small children will take great delight in pulling them out and pinging them back in the wearer's eye. Do not ask how I know this. :sad2:

:lmao: Sorry, but I got a visual on this and I couldn't stop laughing!!

:lmao: I was thinking the same thing!!! Sorry, to the 4'10" poster, I'm not laughing at you, just that can you imagine if a designer had to try to please ALL of us. I think they try to work with a specific height range and I think petite lenghts generally work well for someone that is about 5'2". I know that "average" length clothes seem to be geared for someone around 5'5".

At 5'7", it is rare that I ever have to hem anything. Of all the complaints of have, hem length is about the one "lucky" thing I have going for me when I buy clothing. For example, I think Tahari business suits are made just for me. A size 8 fits me like I was their "fit model." I put on a pair of heels and the length is perfect.

I do have a problem in Kohl's. Every pair of pant in there is about an inch too short, whether it be Docker's regular length pants, Lee jeans, or whatever brand the sell. Those pants will only work with a pair of flip flops. Once I put a shoe on, I've got automatic highwaters! If I go to a Long, then I've got about 2 extra inches. So I assume that average length pants work pretty well for someone who is about 5'5".

Dear designers:

If you make shirts size medium and above, please take into consideration that we need to wear a bra underneath. Nothing is more unattractive than my old worn out bra trying to peek out from all sides of this top and me trying to tuck it in it all day long.

Why is it that tween girls have mostly a selection of low cut skinny jeans and these skin tight long t-shirts that have either neon peace signs all over them or slogans written on them. Just make the jeans fit over their butts and the long t-shirt is not needed.

As a 30-something mom, I don't want to wear low rise jeans, mom jeans, stretchy jeans or jeans with holes in them. None of the options are flattering at the park when I bend over to tie my son's shoes. Trust me.

Dear designers,
The average American women is a size 12/14 NOT a size 2. It would be nice every now and then to see an Ad campaign with a great dressing size 10 or up.

Also can we please make a pair of jeans that are not low riders. I actually have a backside I like completely covered.

Oh God, they are absolutely Butt-ugly. I saved for an entire year to buy some new clothes for a vacation to Europe and can't find any thing worth buying.

This is part of why designers have such a hard time. I am only 5'4" and average length pants fit me just fine but I have long legs for someone my height, 30" inseam. I think they need to go to sizing like men waist x inseam and it will be a lot easier to shop for pants. I also have long arms with broad shoulders so I usually have to go up a couple sizes in shirts to get them to fit, then they bag everywhere else, which is also why they have to stop selling suits in SETS.

Don't forget about the skinny girls either. I'm short and tiny. I can only shop in Juniors departments and stores meant for teens. I love more sophisticated styles but unless I shop at very expensive places, they don't make the clothes small enough for me.

Why oh why, dear designers do swim suits cost so much for so little fabric??? A tankini costs more than a full outfit for me!

I would probably buy more swim suits if:

a.) they weren't so expensive,
b.) they cover what should be covered, and are flattering,
c.) where are all the pretty swim suits and why are they so hard to find?!

I so agree!

I have been trying to buy new clothes (I have lost some weight) and I have not really found anything I like. I had to buy a few things for work... but it is frustrating!

As I walked through the mall I keep thinking to myself "gee, I have money I want to spend... but there is NOTHING to buy" ugh!! :sad2:

This was me yesterday. I was looking to buy a whole new wardrobe and ended up with 3 dresses and 3 pair of shoes for work. Everything else was either really ugly, made me look pregnant or flat out just didn't fit right!

Dear designers,

Please don't assume that just because I'm a B cup that I need or want a padded bra. I'm perfectly happy with what I have and would just like a nice, plain bra that's not padded so it will actually fit under my t-shirts without showing.

Thanks

I am a C cup, so not much bigger and I have to move into the "full figured" bras to find some that are not padded. I HATE padded bras so instead I wear one that is too big. Your choice is either a sports bra/non-underwire or padded.

Infant and toddler
Teenager and Hootchie Mama (many brands do not distinguish lol)
Young Professional
Grandma
Found this to be so true at Kohls yesterday... :rolleyes1

And what is with the fake diamonds? I couldn't walk two feet in Kohls yesterday without seeing something with those darn fake diamonds on them.

Even in the Misses section, yes, plastered all over some "Young Professional" articles.

WHY could I NOT find a pair of sunglasses there that didn't have those fake diamonds ALL OVER THEM! :cool2:

Shirts with fake diamonds.

Undies with fake diamonds.

Heck, they even had a set of sheets with fake diamonds. ;) Okay, I am kidding. But they DID have ugly fake diamond jeans.

I am NOT a fan of fake diamonds on clothing, if you couldn't tell.

I have been so disappointed with Kohl's lately. I used to be able to go in there, find very reasonably priced, basic clothing and now it is all that ugly, butt-crack showing stuff. I need a couple short sleeved black turtlenecks for a couple suits I have. I can't find them anywhere.

I was just in the Jockey store last week and they have lots of non-padded bras. Don't know what their fit is like...
