Dear Brett Favre....

He just wants to skip training camp.
So he pulls this stunt for 3 weeks and viola-training camp over.

I was at Green Bay, the nite he decided to fly in and come to Lambeau Field. It was Family nite and the packers were scrimmaging with defense against offense. They wouldn't let him in the locker room and he went up to his Family's suite and banged on the windows and stood there for everyone to see him. The next 2 days they had meetings with Favre and the GM and coaches wouldn't let him back. It was really heart breaking how they treated Favre, but he made that big retirement story back in February and he changed his mind to play in August, and the Packers said, "see ya".

Yup...agree with you there. He just doesn't want to do training camp AND he want to be asked to come back.

What Favre apparently hasn't learned in all his years here is Midwesterners have no patience or respect for people that dilly dally.

You'd be hard pressed to find many fans left in Packerland.
My entire family still lives in Wisconsin and every single one of them loves Brett, no matter what colors he wears. I think there are a whole lot of fans left in Packerland, both in WI and outside of WI. Our local Packer bar had just as many people glued to the Vikings games last year as the Packer games, just to be able to watch Brett play.

:earsboy:

My blood runs green and gold, and Brett lost so much respect from me. Didn't watch any more Viking games than usual (just when they played the Packers). What happened was that Brett thought he was the Packers. I will always be a Packers' fan, not so much a Brett fan anymore.

Well, now they are reporting he will play if his dr appt goes well. I really thought it was over this time. Should have known better.

Makes you wonder if it is a slow news day in the sports world, and someone took the plunge and started Brett Favre sitings. Our local tv stations have shown Brett throwing the football to the highschool kids in Mississippi and said he gained 15lbs and he needs to get in shape.

Well NOW.....something much, much different is being reported about Mr. Favre! If true, and it certainly wouldn't surprise me, it won't be his ankle that is in the headlines.

Come to NE WI (ie home of the Packers) and see how many fans you'll find. ;)

Sure, you'll find them sporadically here and there, but Brett Favre's legacy is severly tarnished in Green Bay.

I totally agree with this!! I am totally a Packers fan, but think Favre has gotten a big head. I have lost a lot of respect for him as a person (Not as a Packer -- he was an awesome player!)

Brett had a "not so squeekey clean" reputation, when he first started playing with the Packers. His wife put up with a lot in the beginning. Brett and Deanna have gone through so much together. I don't believe the person, but if she notified the police and the police proves it Brett by phone records, who knows.

I didn't realize that there were things in his past that weren't so goody-goody. I still hope this isn't true, but the link was from CBS (from what I remember) and they are a pretty reliable news source.

ETA: Oh my. I just read a more detailed article on the Huffington Post. I'm physically sick. I will never look at Crocs the same way.

Living in a town close to Green Bay in his early days. There were lots of stories around about him and 'other women' at the bars down town in our town. This was pre-addiction days but who knows....not real shocked from the stories in those days..

Now I will comment on the whole retirement thing, over the past few years I have lost a lot of respect for the man. How many of us could quit our jobs and then say NO I changed my mind, Quit our jobs and so NO I changed my mind...employers don't stand for that..

Frowns upon what? Linking a news story?? :confused3

The news article you shared isn't bad. But it has a link to another site with more detailed info which is pretty graphic. I think that's what OhMari is referring to.

Also, how many of us quitting would affect a whole organization? Everyone is replaceable, but this is on a much larger scale. He does this crap so close to camp or during camp and the poor second string QB is left wondering what the heck is going to happen. And the Vikings players and coaches are probably as fed up as anyone else. They design plays before the season starts. The QB spot is usually tailor made for a specific QB based on that individuals strengths and weaknesses. All offensive plays hinge on the QB. This upsets the entire strategy for the Vikings. He's leaving a ton of people hanging and it's not right. I feel bad for the Vikings and I'm almost wishing they would make the decision for him and cut him. There. I said it. Flame away, but he is being self centered and taking no one else into consideration.

No flames here...agree 100%!
